But there is a example of what he is saying, in Ireland. What happens there is there is no incentive for someone to release a domain name at all, ever. So they may as well just stick it in the companies inventory for if they ever need to use it in the next 500 years. There is simply no reason to hand it over.
So all he is doing is saying, I'd rather not even have the possibility of buying the name ever, rather than well there might be a chance.
One of the reasons .ie doesn't work. There are a few others but that is one why its not popular as it could, or even should have been.
