Hi All

I bought a domain from someone, but they are saying it's one which they defined as "should not be renewed" in 1 and 1 control panel, and now they don't have the option to tag transfer it in the way they normally would.

I do have a 1 and 1 account, but I don't have my own Nominet tag. Obviously I will be contacting 1 and 1 support at some point, but is there a way I can get this done via Nominet without involving 1 and 1 at all? Just thinking aloud really but any suggestions as to the quickest way to proceed would be appreciated.

Thanks

Can the owner of the sold domain change the domains admin email address to yours? Then it should be listed on your Nominet account associated with your usual email address that you register names in. You can then phone Nominet if it's not listed in your account, and they will ask you to confirm the email address it's registered to, after that's confirmed, Nominet should tell you it's in your account, and to do a password reset for it to show up, you can then transfer it to yourself from within your online services and change tags during transfer.

Or, get the seller to push it to your 1 and 1 account, it's then under your email address that you use with your Nominet account, I did that with one of my domains, I couldn't see the domain in my Nominet account, so I phoned them and they told me it was now in my account, I just had to do a password reset for it to appear, it was obviously still registered in the sellers name, but again, you just transfer it to yourself from within online services and set whatever tag you want it to be on.
