A twitter clone heello.com has been launced by the founder of twitpic.com

Twitpic.com is one of the largest twitter picture hosting sites however, recently twitter have launched their own service.

Twitter has launched pictures so twitpic has launched twitter!

And now?

This is number xxxxxxx of startups trying to copy Twitter, only reason why it might look to be the next thing is that the company or their PR company know the right people and get their name out in every freaking online news update today.

Ridiculous. Twitter has too much momentum, but if they wanted to have even a smidge of a chance of getting any traction whatsoever, they should have forked out for a "massive" domain name i.e. "Cool.com" or "Talk.com" or "Friends.com" or something like that so that they can stand out from the throngs of me-too Twitter clones.

(And yes, I am suggesting .com, because by definition the service planned is global)

Oh, and they need to make the service about 100x faster. It's currently much slower than Twitter, and that's saying something! Being "instant" (even with seemingly more bells and whistles) is one possible competitive edge.

Completely agree with that, Edwin.

Just checked who owns hello.com - google - I wonder what they have planned for it?

Yeah I sign up for all these things even though they never take off, just so I can have the username 'jenni'.

Twitter has just started to stick the knife in Facebook's side with with built in picture hosting.

Mr Twitpic you made an application using twitters API, you are NOT part of twitter, and because twitter evolved (naturally) to include some of features you provided does not entitle you to spit the dummy and throw out your toys. So GROW A PAIR and come up with some new not a half assed badly done clone which you can buy better off the shelf.

Not a surprise he's pissed.

Yeah. I'm not in a good mood today because of multiple idiots (posts passim today) but there are some of us who don't give a flying **** (insert your vernacular) about Twitter.
