Just doing some research on Nominet and public purpose etc.
I can across this statement on Nominet non-exec Directors blog of Nora Nanayakkara http://nanayakkara.co.uk/tag/nominet/
Implying cannot change UK domain pricing!
Does anybody know, if there is anything in the rules, M & A, set up, promises etc. that means Nominet cannot increase the price of a renewal of the current UK tld's?

As Jonathan Robinson said in the consultation video, for every person that would like the price of .uk to be increased, you can find one who is vehemently opposed. The Board has no current plans to change the pricing. However, we need the ability to be able to do so.
