Hi Guys

It's on my list to do mate but way below all the other crap I've got to update to deal with .uk.

Aarons does it I think and there's another one mentioned on here recently, can't find the thread though.

Grant

Ah ok mate, is really usefull tool can you let me know when its updated please.

http://www.drop.co.uk/ukwhois/

This sort of does it, can put in .co.uk/.org.uk domains and will tell you the registration rights for the domain, or the tag of the domain the .uk is registered to. I'll get round to adding it to the normal whois checker at some point over the next week or so.

Just trying drop.co.uk one now but what i did was make a test list which was

confirmation.co.uk
confirmation.uk
foraging.co.uk
foraging.uk
Ackerman.co.uk
Ackerman.uk
sata.co.uk
sata.uk

and get this error from Arrons system

Warning! 4 domain has been removed from the list as they are not .uk domains.

If you want to donate £5 to my paypal I could do you a list in the next 20 minutes of up to 4807 domains

Oh so do you just want to look up lists everyday to see what co.uk's have been caught/registered and then what of those hasn't had the .uk registered?

or something else

100% generic domains, or not?

If the former, then maybe. It's exploiting a "knowledge gap" but there's at least a secondary logic to it (generics can be valuable in and of themselves)

If not, then that sounds like cybersquatting (even if a domain is 1 minute old, if it's not at all generic then there's no earthly reason to register the matching .uk except to extort the .co.uk owner)

Hi Sean,

The whoIS checker I linked only lets you check .co.uk and .org.uk to show you the right of registration for .uk or if the .uk is registered at the moment. Will try and get it sorted this week.

You could just scan with the DAC?

That aswell, but i thought by having one list co.uk and one list .uk i could do some comparing its just none of the bulk whois can do this yet.

Thanks Aaron, would be great if you could update ? i think others would find it usefull aswell, we dont need to know who has rights of the registration the same day its going to drop as them rights dont apply when it drops?

I saw my first 2 .uk only regs on Sedo last night.

Both classics.....
