Unfinished Website Project Colouring World / com

I am selling a Website project that I have been developing for the past 9 months, Developers have gone A.W.O.L so website is not quite finished, not a lot of work is needed to complete this project I just dont have the Software/time or skill-set to complete.

Buyer will receive all Website files, Domain Name and associated material.

Can you say what field its in (i.e. Finace, Lifestyle, music etc) ?

What language is the coding done ?

What standard is the code ? (i.e. will the final output code pass validator, is it formatted code, etc)

I figure others will want to know this stuff too so asking it here rather than everyone pming asking you

Website could be catorgorised as pre-school , crafts, Educational,

As for the coding I cant hounestly answer as I never coded the Website, I had the site designed and coded by developer, I understand that it was designed using "Swish".

As I have already outlined, the Website is not completed, well 95% complete I would say, just needs a little work by a Swish developer

Sorry I cant be more technical, I will try to answer whatever questions you got, just ask away, hope I have answered some of your questions, best just take a look and decide for yourself.

Hi Stender,

I assume you mean the Colouring Book pictures?

These where all provided by the Developer as part of the deal, they come with full resale rights to me, there are hundreds of pictures included in the colouring ebooks covering lots of subjects, the ebook zip file size is approx 95mb so this should give you some idea of the quantity of colouring pages included, this is what you send to the customer after payment, all pages have been branded with the Colouring World Logo as I figure most of the time these pages get put on the fridge or wall so it makes for good advertising for the site, this can easily be removed prior to printing if customer prefers.

To sum-up, no copyright problems.

95mb? Wow that is a rather large download for kids!! Surely that would take ages?

Is there a forum included or is this something that needs to be set up by the purchaser of the site?

I like the idea of the site but it does look like it needs considerable work and I imagine there are copyright issues with that music?

A site totally built with flash it's great for SEO or a wide audience. The developer hasn't made it easy or done you any favours for you at all.

Will be a hard one to sell i think unless theirs a few developers out there in the know with swish.

Pity as it's a nice looking site and should have been built in PHP coding with flash content and not every page in flash including the menu.

Just noticed it's hosted with the guy's at Krystal Hosting noticed the I.P.

Re: 95mb, yes it is a large file but it could be split as there are a lot of different colouring pages ebooks, you could give customers access to a secure page so they can download what they prefer. Its a large file due to the Quality and size of the line art drawings, if you want to see a sample you can download from the Website.

Is there a forum? No not at present but that was the plan, all that is needed is for the new owner to load-up a simple forum platform like the ones you get for free with most hosting accounts then just make the link from the index page.

Copyright issues? Not to sure about that one, you can remove or change the music.

Theres not a lot of work needed to complete the site as I intended it to be, here is what is needed:
1. Install the forum
2. Build a page for the shop and link it to Shop Button
3. Change the Paypal Payment info for Orders.
4. SEO and Promote

Not a great deal of work, all the major work is complete

I just want to add that I made quite a few sale in december after I posted the site for sale on sitepoint.

Its a pretty recession proof site, as Money is tight and anyone with kids will know how expensive it is keeping them entertained, £4.99 is not a lot to pay to keep the kids quite/entertained for hours and best of all it can be used over and over, Bargain!

Yes your right, developers have done me no favours although Swish was the tool of choice to make the site playful and interactive, I would have completed the site myself if it was just PHP coded. The site is hosted over at Krystal, great bunch of guys and very helpful, this was so I could test new features during the development.

Although the Website is not offically complete it is live and ready for business selling the colouring ebook, no SEO or Promotion has been done but I did notice it has been picked-up by the search engines and ranks OK for some Key Words.

If anyone is genuinly interest in taking this site forward post your offers or PM me, we can take it from there.

i used to design flash purely with Swish because i didnt have teh technical knowledge to use Flash MX etc

can you pm me your estimated sales figures if you have any
at teh minute i cant see why people wont just buy a colouring book

maybe you would want to keep the project but just outsource teh work to get it finished ??

I dont have any future projections sorry, all I can say is that I have made a few sales totaling £80, these where just random sales of the colouring ebook package.

They Do!, but the site has more potential than that if the Shop was developed plus the Forum. You could sell a wide range of Branded/ Related products through the shop, this is where I believe the true value will be, I did have a Logo ready for use on t'shirts etc that kids could colour how they like, you just have to use your imagination for suitable products to stock the shop.

Anyone interested, would like to sell soon so I can focus on a new project. I have lost all interest in this site now so it needs some fresh ideas, I can supply my ideas I had for this site if you fancy a new project. One thing I can say is this site is pretty recession proof and gets regular traffic, although, as I have already stated it does require some further work to complete.
