No, 123 reg, netbenefit, dd24, weycrest, godaddy, paid with two of the above, I'm not doing anymore, I'll just see what happens. I've had enough today anyway. And deleting still uses whois on the checks.

I just went back to 123 reg, over an hour later and it's showing they got it, I'll have to get my money back from weycrest now. Yes, whois is working all over now.

my mistake weycrest got it. They're a quid more than 123-reg but at least they reg the domains eventually, a good job I did pay twice.

Years of habit I suppose, I'm with 123reg (fast leaving their unstable service) so use them to reg, I use netbenefit to check available domains as well, nominet don't really figure, it's just not a website I have open I guess, perhaps I should try in future but for all those not to work for an hour...

Why check UK whois with GoDaddy there on the other side of the world.

If you check whois from one source there's a danger it won't update, I doubt many people check whois at nominet, it's just not in your face enough, perhaps they do, unfortunately for netbenefit I've been checking available domains using their interface since 1998, they're who I bought my first domain with.

It doesn't matter where in the world whois is updated, it's still realtime and it's good to get a varety of readings especially when the crap site 123-reg fails to follow up on an immediate request and fails to register the domain so checking various sources to ensure you get a domain is vital.

It took an hour but where 123-reg failed, Weycrest succeeded, I used Weycrest because I remembered on this forum thay take paypal so I used namedrive monies that were paid into that account today. I'm not that cryptic, I just keep getting let down by supposed professional companies so have to cover my harris and do things a little different from your average tag holder.

And whilst we're on the subject I WISH NOMINET WOULD FINE 123-REG, this uesless inept company needs to learn somehow.

Needs a bit of banana yellow and lime green to be in the same league as the big players like Gomummy :-D

Plus the Nominet birds dont look like the Gomummy birds.

I'll have a go with nominet's whois in future, I just figured that if those four aint working, then no whois is updating.

I would imagine theres nothing wrong with the whois at any of these third party lookups and that they have just cached the request due to the tiny limits imposed by Nominet now.

Perhaps and probably, still no excuse for 123-reg mucking up yet another order though. I will try and check nominet whois in future. Mind you whois was correct for a certain period as 123-reg hadn't even regd it.

It's gone down again, one site says the domain is already regd, another let me reg it and pay, nominet still aint updated in half an hour. was it regd? nobody knows.

So nominet restricts itself as well? what a load of rubbish.

10 more minutes and it should update, I know I aint got the domain, for once I think 123reg is bang on with their system not getting a domain that's already taken, I ummd and arrd too much. Trouble is I paid elsewhere after.

It's finally updated and... I did get it. Someone lost out at 123.
