having problems transfering a .net domain through sedo, been trying to contact a transfer agent all day through there transfer center without success they promise to respond within 1 to 2 days. Anybody got any contacts that could help with communication.

I’m not sure what type of response you'll get now the weekends here but when I was having trouble getting hold of my agent about a .eu domain.
I sent an email to [email protected] which was listed as a whois contact on their holding account didn’t get a direct reply but my agent contacted me about 15 mins after sending might be worth a try.

Doing that thanks

yes it says in the transfer center to expect a reply within 1 to 2 days and that they only work 9 to 6 monday to friday, no wonder people complain.

The US office may still be open - may be worth a telephone call.

Well it's 8.14 A.M on saturday 15th of May and I have been trying to make contact with the sedo transfer department since 5.00 A.M on Friday the 14th of May and have still had no success. I have to say that in all my years working on the internet this is the worst service I have ever encountered.

10.10 AM Saturday now and still no word from sedo I have emailed 7 different people and departments over the last 29 hours none of them have replied except for Joanna who was helpful without success until she went on holiday until the 18th at 5.30 last night, Friday.

The statement below is from sedo's transfer history in the transfer center. If I could make contact with Sedo I would tell them that both gaining and losing registrars responded with absolute professionalism, the only barrier to total efficiency has been SEDO

"The buyer will need these data in order to confirm the transfer in his xxxxx account.
Once this has been done, the domain will be transferred. Please note that this process may take up to 7 days to be processed, depending on the losing an gaining registrars "

It's now 6.PM on Saturday evening UK time. 37 hours since I started trying to contact the transfer agent at sedo and for anyone interested,I have entered at the foot of this post the instructions from the sedo transfer centre. And this is what it says in the " your comment field" where the customer enters there comment for the transfer agent.

"Enter message for your transfer specialist. Please note messages are attended to on a first-come, first-served basis. depending on communications volume, standard response times are 1 to 2 business days. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm."

Yes it is frustrating. I've had a few people I wished to deal with and I wanted to do the deal through sedo but three people have said they would not use them because of past experience. I mean you pay them for there services and the service can be appalling, depending of course on when it is and if anything goes wrong. If you run a less than efficient service things will go right 90% of the time but the service will be shown up to be what it really is when things go wrong on the other 10% of occasions.

You don't not wear a crash helmet simply because you've never crashed.

it's 10 am now Sunday 16th and still not any word from sedo, that means I've been unable to make contact with a transfer agent in 53 hours. No replies from any of the 7 email addresses which I contacted on Friday and Saturday the 14th and 15th.

Out of interest, if they say that they work Mon-Fri 9am - 6pm, then at the latest the 1-2 business days after a Friday AM contact would surely be close of play on Monday?

I understand that you're frustrated, but it does seem fairly clear that even when you sent the message you must have known they might not respond until late Monday afternoon.

Just a thought as I'm not sure it's worth getting too upset by it all if they're playing by the implicit rules you agreed to when you set up the transaction?

Thanks for your input.
I'm not that upset but I am indignant.
The 1 to 2 business days is simply not acceptable in an age of 24/7 business, the 9 to 6 opperable hours is inappropriate in a global operation which has various time lines. I don't make knee jerk decisions but if I am to move hundreds of domain names away from sedo, I want to give them every opportunity to install a service which offers fair value for there fee. We all have to, why should'nt they.

It's 7.0 am now Monday morning. Still no response from sedo after 74 hours since I first sent a message through there transfer center.
No response from the transfer agent and no response from all the other email addresses I've emailed for assistance at sedo.

Got an email reply from someone at sedo at 9.11 this morning Monday. He said "I will speak to the transfer agent today to see if we can find a solution to this issue".
The solution to this issue would have been for the transfer agent to reply last Friday morning or during the period since. Joanna asked him to contact me at 3.50pm on Friday.

simply put sedo are shite
if and when they get back they are as much use as a an ashtray on a motorbike
