Nope, LL only got the ball rolling, the rest was down to two other individuals (domainers). I must just be sprinkling them with magic dust at the moment :)

I know it was used in schools as a programming language years back. Maybe it still is. Not sure.

It was. I had to learn it. Doubt it is now.

    Pascal

Pascal is still in use today - not as much but it has constructs that other languages don't have

I have a background in Physics and Software engineering and used it extensively.

I had an interest in it from the Physics, programming and Mathematics perspective

Oh and flogging the domain to a french bloke - but too expensive for me

It's not very popular now, but hanging in there. See for example http://langpop.com/

I don't mean to play devil's advocate but it is my opinion this and many of Ian's other sales are very shady. When someone once said they would make a Domainor out of Ian. I think what they really meant was Ian was a suitable choice who would lose no sleep to become one of the inner circle of corruption and sophisticated shill bidding.

I'll quote it all so when you delete it Ian can still read it and laugh in the morning.

I'm not saying I'm right, but asking questions about certain entities shouldn't be shut down. After all situations like this could affect the ordinary domainor, in them listing catches expecting to get a fair price on what could be fabricated prices, only to get £50.

I remember you being very angry that Monkey dare say anything bad about Edwin, yet it's ok for you to suggest Ian is shady and part of corrupt shill bidding?

Oh dear, I shouldn't rise to such jealousy, but I will, because you couldn't be more wrong, and I'm sure if necessary, Denys would confirm looking at the data.

Firstly, just because I've had a good run, and made a success of domaining, rather than pocket change, I'm deemed a cheat? It's called putting the effort in, looking at domaining from a different angle and making opportunities, rather than waiting for them to magically appear! Can't say I'm surprised, not the first to get all moody with me because I've caught and sold a few domains recently (what is the matter with some of you?).

Let's breakdown the bidding on pascal shall we, seeing as you've accused me on this thread. I won't mention the bidders by name because they have clearly bid using defaults, but the winning bid, buyer1 (might as well say Lee because the whois confirms this anyway), bidded from £60. Buyer2, who has a cl level of 84 and very well known on here bid from £210. Buyer3, who bid from £250 has what I believe to be the highest rank on DL at a cl of 250. So to shill bid, I'd need to have influenced domainers that have been in this industry for 10-15 years...don't talk daft!

Should I go on, or was it just a drunken rant that you'll now retract in the cool light of day?

PS - thanks invincible for quoting him in case he edits; I was sent his quote by someone else too.

Ian's cupper domain didn't sell for the earth and one other domain that I thought was decent didn't even get a £50 bid, so I don't think there's anything like this going on.
