Recommend a games website script

Hello all, I've got a domain name which is game related an gets a few hits, I'm after a template to use to combine google adsense and games, any suggestions? cheers Mally

Dont expect too much income from Mochimedia but at least you get free games on your website.

I hadn't even heard of wparcade, but really like the look of some of those themes. In the past I'd considered using Silverz suggestion, myarcadeplugin, but moved on to other projects. I purchased a funny games domain (nothing there yet) a while back, so I really ought to get back to making a decision on this. Do both of these solutions have options to easily populate it with games in certain genres? Also, have you found it to be SEO friendly?

One of my websites uses wparcade, and it's very easy to add categories/games, infact you can have categories within categories, for example - [makeover games >> fashion games, dressup]. Everything is quite simple admin side, and you can even have games added automatically from mochi, FGD, playtomic etc. However in my opinion the ads on those games are just so irritating, I personally don't bother with them, and add my own choice of games that do not have long ads.

The inbuilt SEO is ok, for some pages titles cannot be set, however there is a plugin that is compatible with this script (yoast) which you can easily manage title pages for game pages/categories.

Negatives that I have found are that loading times are a little on the slow side for my liking, the script uses timthumb, which seems to be the culprit, and I'm looking to have that removed altogether to fix the speed issues.

It sounds more strightforward that I'd imagined so that's great. Thanks for the SEO tips also. The loading time point is a bit of a worry though. Can you post a URL of your site or others using the script so I can take a look?

This thread is pretty relevant to me as I have just purchased a couple of game names with very good exacts despite knowing nothing about this niche!

If you don't use the games via WParcade how do you go about sourcing them without the ads?

Actually the games are completely separate to the script, the script just has the function to grab the games from mochi (for example) and add them to the website.

Sourcing games is time consuming but all it involves really is to visit existing websites that allow (and most of the time encourage you) to place the game on your website. Choosing this path (rather than automated mochi games) is better for two reasons, the first is you actually choose good games that you feel users will enjoy, and the second reason is standing out from the 'crowd'.

Imagine how many arcade websites are pumping their arcade sites with the same games, and ultimately using the same descriptions (since this is automated also). I's obviously much better to write the descriptions (which you can use for important keywords) yourself, and take original thumbnails of game play. This way you take full control over the seo aspects of your websites, whilst keeping it 'fresh'.
