Be interesting to see if bbb.co.uk drops who will catch it I would imagine its going to be a pretty hot name :)

I dont think it will, others have already been in contact :p

Strange one though I know someone who was in contact with the administrators in early 2006 but had no joy  wonder who had been paying to renew it since then.. and why they let it get suspended ?

Think it was the domain Fairies..? I have heard they come along and renew domains for people...?

no about fifty people tried contacting the owner and by this time he probably realised it was worth a few quid....

I thought the company went into administration in 2006. Does that make the current owner details false by default, or is somene still reponsible for controlling the company assets? I'm not sure that it makes sense for it to continue to be renewed year after year if the company itself no longer exists. The act of constantly renewing it, instead of actually selling it off, almost implies that nobody actually owns it. Of course, I night be totally wrong, but and this is just my view.

The company goes into administration, then the administrator has a duty to dispose of the assets correctly, including maintaining all those little bits of IP which may be transferred or sold off to a third party. Besides which, he/she will need to manage the company email too.

Thanks for the info. I'd have thought 3 years + would've been enough time to figure out what to do with this domain name, but I'm no expert in these matters, so maybe it isn't at all unusual. If there is an email account attached to the domain, they've been a bit careless in almost letting the domain name drop.

You'd be surprided newguy, Shoes Limited (438689) has been in Liquidation since march 1955, the Liquidator keeps throwing in a 4.86 Statement! Amazing!!

Anyone made an offer on this recently? How much were people prepared to pay?

Nobody could find anyone that owned it. It's amazing that it got renewed , well amazing being the word that I use when I don't want to get sued.

How much were people prepared to offer? I too was interested in the name however wasn't sure of value with there being big differences in sales of ggg, kkk and lll (all .co.uk) domains? Still trying to get better with valuations :)

kkk was a non-starter really with the obvious association. I wouldn't put that in the mix to calculate other same-three-letter domains.

I enquired about the name last year before it expired and had been in contact with the liquidators KPMG ever since. After checking with the majority purchasers of Berkeley Berry Birch Plc's assets, they confirmed that the domain had not been bought by them therefore KPMG as far as I believe have the rights to sell it. They declined my original offer and since decided to pass it to an auctioneer for disposal (I don't plan on purchasing it).

There seems to be a bit more to it from what I found out, the person people who renewed this name were certainly not KMPG.

Not much more I can say past that, but that I do know.

If it wasn't the owner, the only other party who could have renewed it is a Registrar. If they did it without owner's consent, then it was done in a violation of Registrar's agreement and must be investigated by Nominet.

It is Wyles Hardy & Co auctioning the name, so I think they sorted everything regarding renewal.

Currently at £750 + fees + VAT. I'm giving it a miss so good luck to anyone that does bid.
