Hi Guys,

Would really like some guidance from those that know what the domain axis.co.uk might be worth and the best way of selling it. It comes with the .uk domain.

Many thanks in advance.

I would do outbound marketing on it.

There are a lot of potential buyers.

This question would have many different answers depending on how quickly you want/need to sell?

The figure Robert originally quoted is not the most realistic, there is a certain amount of hope in that and if you want to achieve even 25% of that amount, you would probably need to sit and wait until somebody approaches you - which could take years.

If you wanted to dispose of it quickly you could use domainlore or sedo auctions, but you won't achieve anything like an end user price.

SEDO and Domainlore are not going to get anywhere above £1k. Outbounding is something we do and are familiar with 5 and 6 figure sales (predominately .coms). The UK space isn't great but there are some really good targets which is why initially i suggested pitching at £75k - especially for a pair.

If you are use to selling £50 names then yes it seems like a lot.

Metaverse.co.uk is being pitched at £350k. Dao.uk sold for £10k within 24hrs of being listed. UK is similar to Australia and Canada and those places record some good sales.

Dao - "Decentralized autonomous organization" it's one of the most trending keywords at the moment.
meta.uk sold to FaceBook, so most likely the owner of Metaverse hope the same, but it's unlikely IMHO.
Your examples do not actually represent the current reselling market.

I am talking about End Users not reseller market.

Sure, but it will take time as Pedigree said.

also, Outbounding domains can lead to a DRS case at Nominet so it's not the safest bet.
Agreed it would take time to achieve a top sale. Disagree about DRS. Nothing on WIPO and too many targets to DRS. There are many factors to DRS, outbounding or not.

Nothing wrong with reaching out to some companies. Either sit on it and wait for someone to come to you (could take years) but you will get a higher price.

Or outbound for a quicker sale i would say mid-high xxxx is realistic for a quick sale with some luck.

It sold on dan.com - i read it on DNforum last week. It was also posted for sale on here last week

dao.uk hasn't been purchased by an end user, it is someone else speculating that they can sell it for more, which they may well struggle to do.

Asking for a price and getting it are two different things. Just because somebody is asking for something doesn't make it worth it:

menu.co.uk only sold for £22,500 recently.

A domain is only worth what somebody is willing to pay, which is often based on how badly they need it and if you are cold calling/emailing companies, I would suggest they don't need it that badly.

All I was trying to suggest is that the amount the OP could expect to achieve would be highly dependent on how quickly he needed to achieve it.

If it was as easy as you suggest every decent name would be selling for tens of thousands on auction sites, but they are not, because there is always uncertainty and a lot of luck involved.

We've auctioned 68 domains over the last month or so and done outbound marketing. We've sold 52 and only two have gone to end users, one for £90 to a tiny cafe in the town (a geographic domain) and the other for just shy of £300 for a keyword domain that's a peach for his business. In the conversation I had post auction with the chap that won the keyword domain, he explained that he got the email and decided to have a bid but wasn't desperate to own it and has no plans to use it.

I used to say that domains are lottery tickets but actually they're more akin to premium bonds where, if you've bought sensibly, you should be able to get your money back but while you own them your number may come up.

I would say worth low ££££ to the average Joe for an easy sale, you could wait it out for more but depends on your priority. I waited 15 years for my biggest sale back in early 2020 ($100k usd) just came out of the blue but before that nothing, nada not a sniff, and I always thought they were good domains but cliche time it only takes one (rich!) buyer who wants it bad. I don't know about anyone else but 2021 was dead for me but in 2022 I am getting offers again feels like some life back in market.

Must say you guys on here are a great source of information, thank you all.

I see you were using it previously, have you had any offers in the 20+ years? Sticking it on SEDO, Dan, Afternic etc., might help you to find a buyer.
