A few of you may know I resell VoIP besides other things and run Hull VoIP co uk.

I don't really push it to be honest or even try to SEO the site to rank higher, but have noticed over the months it climbing up from out of no-where to in the 1000's to the 100's and now today is at postion 41. :p

Lets say sign up is 0 and current client base is 0 what kind of shinyness would it have as just a site if it carried on to page 1? Shiny i mean in every sense, value, to other VoIP companies. etc

I only started to monitor it as I noticed in it's keyword phrases "VoIP" was out running all the long tail phrases.

Any comments, ideas, help (on to page 1) would be much appreciated. :D

After thought ! Must cost a bit for Adwords to be on the first page of Google for the word "VoIP" and increasing.

Are you trying to optimise for local searches - ie. do people search for Hull VOIP (or similar terms) or are you selling nationally and "Hull VOIP" is just the company name?

Cheers, Jon

Selling nationally and "Hull VOIP" is just the company name as I set out to just supply local business but have clients all over the UK.

Hence I would have not called it HULL voip

Ah OK. Probably still worth doing a little local SEO

Have you added the business to the Google Local directory? If so, make sure there's as much stuff on there as you can get - photos, videos, opening times, payment methods....

Put your business address and (local) phone number on every page, in text (not graphics) - in the header or footer is probably easiest

Look for sites that do consumer reviews and get some satisfied customers (real or imaginary) to post some glowing reviews

Reg with the leading online directories (Yell, Yelp....). Free listing is fine, just make sure you use the exact same spelling and grammar when you add your address as you do on the website

Create a Facebook business page and include some links to the site. If you have an RSS feed, find a Facebook RSS widget that is dofollow and put it on your business page, pulling your RSS feed.

....errrr... probably more, but that should be a good start?

HTH ?

Cheers, Jon

I'm sure it is worth doing some more SEO and should do some in the next month or so.

Thanks for the advice!
