Hello. I'm looking for some advice. I registered a domain through namecheap and now have I buyer for it. I've only ever bought domains so I'm looking for some advice on how to go about it.

I've read I can push it to another namecheap account but I'm wondering about the process if they don't have a namecheap account, and not even sure whether I transfer it or not without having to wait 60 days or whatever.

I maybe should have looked into this beforehand but didn't think I'd find a buyer so quickly, or more the fact that I just thought I'll worry about the actual process later.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

Is it a .com or .uk ?

If its .uk then you don't need to wait 60 days, they don't need a namescheap account.

If its a .com then you have to wait or you have to push it to another account.

Edit

Congrats on the sale :)

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes it's a .co.uk domain. I logged into my nominet account and looked there at the Registrant Transfer option which seems straightforward, but what I'm not sure about is if I enter an email address of the buyer and they haven't got a nominet account, what happens?

Also if you don't mind, any advice on handling the payment? Thanks for the congrats by the way, it's not a great amount but a few of these would be handy just before Christmas.

A sale is a sale...

They don't need a nominet account yet, they will be charged £10+Vat for the transfer tho.

Basically you enter their email once payment is made, they get an email with a link via nominet.

Once they click the link, they are asked to use an existing account of create a new one, and later on enter the tag of where they want the domain to go, they can enter any ISP tag, for example DAILY or GODADDY, then once completed they go to their chosen registrar, click I own this name or transfer in, and add it to their account. It will then be there in their name, in their account.

Payment wise, entirely down to you bank transfer or paypal, I'd take payment before transfer without a doubt, given its not a huge amount escrow prob not worth it for you.

Thanks Skinner, this is pretty much all I wanted to know. By the way, your avatar reminds me of my dear old ma. Cheers.
