Given the very large problems that Betonsports have, and given the fact that the Dept of Justice has made clear that it is going after internet gambling websites ,I suggest that this may be something ND and Google will need to look at . Bear in mind that the USA considers .com domains to be "resident" in the USA and therefore the jurisdiction is USA. Then if you happen to have a domain related to gambling that brings up gambling adverts you are effectively in possible trouble. Any thoughts on this ?.

Oh,and if you dont think its serious read ,quote;
"A US crackdown on online gambling could lead to extraditions from Britain even though British laws in this area are much less tough, lawyers said on Tuesday"

Part of the Indictment reads (and this refers to the co defendants) ,quote "......These companies provided promotional services to the illegal gambling...". I presume therefore that this may well catch Google adverts for gambling.

This is the problem now with the changes that have been made to the law regarding extradition, whereby British Citizens can now be extradited to EU and USA, without pre-testing in a UK Court, on allegations of a "crime" that is not a "crime" in the UK.

Indeed it is all very scary ,even for people who are wholly law abiding ,but how on earth are they meant to know if they are breaking a US law ?.

This situation is akin to the music piracy battle - the firms/prosecutors are only going to go after the big fish... There would be so many tens of thousands of people serving gambling ADs via their parked domains, the GDP of a small country would be spent going after all of them...
So unless you make millions out of directly promoting and offering online gambling, I am pretty certain you'll be OK...
Anyway, the economy would be so badly hit if they did ban online gambling in the US, they either won't ban it or they will backtrack it...

To add to my original comment... If they did go after parked domains, they would probably go to the parking services, not the domain holders....
