Blocked Domain....

Hi Mat,

I have been contacted by several guys in the UK about blocked domains, and we believe it is a misunderstanding. We are working to get this rectified asap. Until we can rectify it or know that we cannot help any further, we will cover any loss in earnings due to the domains being blocked.

sexymonkey / co / uk

bit over the top isnt it?

i had student-forums.co.uk blocked :) So ive stuck up a quick site for now....

Paul,

As I said in person over MSN yesterday, that was a different issue as it was more likely to have been because of the previous behaviour of the domain before you regged it, what with all those students clicking on ads and such, rather than the term being deemed offensive.

i know but come on, how can you stop people clicking? thats the point in parking to get unique clicks (am i right).

Not if the clicks were being made abusively. Like I say, that was the only reason I could see for that domain being blocked.

Ed

yes and i agree ed on abusive clicks on the previous domain owner, but a new domain owner should at least get chance to verify they are new owners. instead google just emails you and says blocked with now real proof or explanation as to why.

i really hope google doesnt make this a habit of new domains caught by catchers now as it will certainly not help the parking industry.

and this isnt anything against namedrive as you all do a great job.

I've had a domain of mine blocked. It's a single word generic term, and has confounded Ed ;)

however, I have to say, Ed's been on the ball as usual, and replied to my emails with due haste. I understand we're awaiting to hear from google for now, but if not, so be it!

I've just had sixtyniner .co.uk blocked!!!!!!
Whats going on? It's only had 9 views in the last 30 days so whats the problem?:(

ive had 3 prime names blocked bit of a bummer :(

Prob more , ill have to try my entire portfilio to see if any more are blocked :)

Hi kennyboy,

69 seems to be a phrase which was often blocked. Like I said, we are working to see if we can get most of these reinstated and will be in touch as soon as we have some feedback to give.

DB, if you didn't receive an email on any others, then they will be OK.

Ed

OK cheers Ed, what about the 3 that are blocked mate?

Just checked with webmaster tools and it is indexed ok and not blocked.

Just to clarify this:
The change in your domains is that they are currently not receiving any advertising from our advertising partner. This does not mean that the domains are affected in any other way than not receiving ads on our network currently.
We believe that in some cases, as highlighted here, this was a misunderstanding and we are working towards getting them active again.

Ed

I reckon ive lost atleast £20,000 in clicks today. :)

Everyone knows that sexy monkeys are particularly active on Tuesdays.

We are working our hardest to get some resolution on this as soon as we can.

another one blocked today wildwatch.co.uk ?

Hi guys,

Yes, I saw another batch cross my inbox this morning. It seems whatever was turned on on Monday has not yet been turned off. However, we made very good progress yesterday in getting these live again and hope to continue progressing in this manner today.
As I said yesterday, we will cover the cost of any lost earnings for the time that these domains are blocked.

Sorry for the hassle guys, hopefully it can be sorted out asap.

Ed

*Possibbly not the £20,000 for sexymonkeys.co.uk though...

Just got this......

"This is an automated mail to inform you that our advertising partner,
xxxxxx, will no longer return advertising to the following domain(s):

XXXXXXXX.co.uk

The reasons for this are usually:
- Adsense abuse on the domain by a previous owner
- A complaint by a trademark owner
- Google find the name offensive (adult, drugs etc) and no longer wish
to monetize the domain

As Google are our advertising partner, we can unfortunately no longer
return advertising to the domain in question.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused."
