Catch required 20/06/14

Require a catch tomorrow (20th). Already have it booked with many of the public catcher and it isn't a domain I'd expect to mean anything to anyone else, apart from possibly a couple of local residents to me.

Will need to try and catch the .co.uk and .uk as obviously the .uk will be FTR otherwise. Both might be tbh, but don't want to take the risk.

Sorry to be cheap, but would need the catch of both at around £20 total, otherwise I'll just stick with the catchers that I've done business with me in the past.

I would cost at least £8.40 to register both for a year when catching

It was only if some of you had spare poll allocations and wanted to just make a bit; otherwise I'll just stick with the catchers I have, as I doubt anyone else will go for the domain, but don't want to risk it.

Domains are for a local community group, not for myself to profit from.

Ah right, well I've just agreed with another catcher £30 for both with free transfer (I'm just using DAILY). If that is of more interest, let me know, but as said, I suspect without the catchers I have in place, these domains would FTR on drop anyway, so didn't want to spend much, but equally not risk missing them.

If the names have little or no commercial value, Ian should be able to count on the acorn community to help him out for a token amount.

Indeed, I only meant to offer a low amount to those catchers that may not have had anything else booked and just wanted to earn an additional amount they otherwise wouldn't have. It is fine though, appreciate the cost is peanuts.

Diablo was referring to the Acorn community love, not the fact it is for a community group which is largely irrelevant, but thought I'd mention it just so catchers don't think it is one I'm looking to buy cheap and make fortunes from. Sure Diablo will confirm that the domain has little or zero value now that we've discussed on PM.

Not how I read the opening post - it clearly says "it isn't a domain I'd expect to mean anything to anyone else, apart from possibly a couple of local residents to me."

I now know what it is and it definitely isn't a money name. I wouldn't even have given it a second glance on a drop list.

I feel dropcatching is different when it comes to favours

But I'm having a tough time working out exactly as to why I think that

I guess it's because I see dropcatching is a business (of sorts) and the standard has already been set at around £40ish for a catch (maybe £50+ now with .uk) on acorn

I think that is very fair, if you aren't willing to pay £50 for a catch then you can't want the domain that much

& if you don't want it that much why should anyone bother doing you a favour you don't care about

+ Asking for a favour @ £20 but willing to pay other people their full catch amount is a also bit cheeky

I think I'm starting to sound now like I find this a big deal.. I don't, just a bit cheeky

I think that is probably what is annoying people. Happy to pay public catchers £30+ per name, yet private catchers only £20 for both.

Sorry if I came across badly, and yes, it was possibly a cheeky request, but was only an offer to any private catchers that might not have anything loaded and see 'something' as better than 'nothing. I'm confident that the domain has no value to a domainer, so one of the public catchers will catch it for me, but just wanted to extend the offer to you guys.

Don't agree though with the sentiment that it can't be important if not willing to pay £50 for it. This is a 'nice to have' domain for the community group; of which operates non-profit for the residents, so funding is limited. I'd have to justify it given that I already purchased similar for the group at FTR prices, so recovering the cost of this will need some explanation.
