ok ! Just done a search on the famous manchester lawyer Nick Freeman AKA Mr Loophole who has represented many of celebrities including Beckham and hardly lost a case in his career, he specialisies in drink driving cases, anyway his website is WWW.FREEMANKEEPDRIVING.COM / .CO.UK anyone fancy regging WWW.KEEPDRIVINGFREEMAN.COM / .CO.UK
put his loopholes to the test, see what he comes out with then use this to help keep hold of your own domains should someone throw a DRS on you ?
Or something else to test him ?
we could learn from him !
Any ideas ?

Much like 911 did with the US waking a sleeping giant with disasterous results, along with teaching us a trick, by proxy we will be teaching the enemy a trick as well.

Drs

I take it you think we shouldn't go there, the DRS i mean not New York lol, just with DRS submission being FREE !!! i guess your right i'll try it with www.Tescostoysandgames.com only kidding !!!
I think you should avoid 3rd party trademarks all together, says me who owns some, naughty naughty !!!
check my sig links below.

I'm suprised you haven't been sued over that royalm**l domain yet, bringing attention to it on a forum is plain stupid.

Grant

Agreed - it looks more like one of those phishing style sound-a-like domains.

Domains like that give domainers a bad name :( Do yourself and everyone a favour and surrender it asap.

I have learned 2 things about the law, never mess with the legal folk or gangsters because neither one looks good for you :p

Royalm**l

Yes din't think of that about phishing name but i know what you mean could see people getting e-mails fom an address like this asking for personal info, i have a few .co.uk names i would like to release, does Nominet charge for this ?
Thanks !!!

the name Royal Mall is good, as you know mall is taking off in the UK with walmart owning a slice of the UK's big 4, its only time before they create those massive yank walmall thing that have 'walgreen', 'walvideo', 'walelectrical' and all the parts setup like a trafford centre affair, only its all the same shop (where as now we use aisles and consessions, the odd yank uses a more shopping centre idea.

So play that angle :)

Did think of that when regging and coincidently the day i regged it the queens property investments purchased the slough retail park which the next day in the papers was dubbed the Royal mall, purely coincidental, i think even if a different spelling WIPO can still suggest you give it up due to the public confusing this with the know brand Royal mail.
Think i might let it go and stick to Generics.
Thanks anyway Skinner

I don't know about that but royalmail.co.uk isnt used, so may play a part as long as you. Play that newspaper story and do a site all about the retail park, with shop reviews and affiliates to shops inside.

Now that could be a good idea thinking about it, i'll send a letter of interest to Buckingham palace with my proposal ( joke ) no seriuosly good suggestion, can't believe Royalmail/co/uk not used when it's a British brand ?

RoyalMaLL.com maybe a bigger issue than royalmaLL.co.uk.

I came across a site a while ago about the trafford centre, which I was really looking for a guide to navigating the carpark system (its a nightmare), which carparks are best for which shops (theres about 8 carparks), information on buses, it was a whle lot more useful than the centre's own website.

It also included links to all the shops with websites, own websites alot with affiliate links where possible, they did a 'if you liked this shop, X, Y, X maybe of interest to you, and each shop had its own page with a breif bio some 'top picks' from the stores.

A few of the shops even had 'X% Off with coupon below' and 'free coffee with print of this' etc, so maybe a good goer.

You know what Skinner !!! i really like your suggestion and thanks for the info on Trafford centre site, coupons and free coffees a good idea, yes i know the trafford centre well, your best getting a bus from Eccles, gonna leave it at that now before they think we're bumping lol Thanks mate !!!

It is used, you probs tried the address without the www. they haven't covered all bases with the DNS A records. RoyalMail.co.uk <- broke www.RoyalMail.co.uk <- working

It is a pet hate of mine that a lot of big companies don't do this and the IT dept should be on the ball for this.

You know, I never type www. on domain names, because I think if they can't sort their IT folk out, I don't trust them with my Data.

Even the £1 a month hosts have that sorted.

Because RM do it all inhouse they have fucked it up.

Well you were right in a little way as the .com version is the main domain that's indexed with Google.

And they do have that A record sorted.

Just to add too this, how annoying is it when people give out domains or web addresses and start saying? "w w w ." Ahhhhhhh

Reminds me of a classic with Rackspace tele-hasslers...

Them: Yes, I can email over a PDF quote, what is your email?
Me: rob at rob dot co dot uk
Them: Wow thats a cool email address! I wish I had that!
Me: Er, but you said your name is James?
Them: *Silence*
