I'm after some advice please peeps. I'd like to use a cloud based client database for my offline clinic business.

I run two sites in different cities and am currently using a paper based system and I'd ideally like to ditch the massive folders I carry around and extra treatment sheets for a digital version that can be access remotely.

Option 1)
I can use a basic upload of a blank word document that is uploaded online but set it up that it has like 100 treatment sections per customer (average customer needs a maximum of 25) so that would be ample. I could upload it to google drive (I think) and then who ever accesses it can update that sheet accordingly.

Also each treatment has a photo taken so I guess I could also use google drive for this too.

Option 2)
I use a database setup that each field has specific questions that would correspond to the consultation (address, contact info etc), then another section that will update the client records on each visit, maybe I could have an app made that allowed any me or a member of staff to take a pic through their app and it uploads to the client database with photo's of the treatment that day.

Option 1 is workable but option 2 is ideal. Does anyone know of anything like this or is it a custom build jobby sort of thing?

Cheers :)

Just take a client manager and adapt it to suit your needs as your patients are like clients or customers. That way you can have a dedicated DB section for each patient along with any required details and uploads, accessible by secure staff login only, via terminal or mobile devices.

Of course its worth remembering a system like that will depend on web access, whereas your paper based system doesn't.

Thanks mate :) I agree about the web access, it could be an issue but the way I see it, most of my work is in good 3G areas so a minimum of an internet dongle should be all that is needed.

You know its relatively easy to add an online app to something like that, so for example if you bought a good smartphone with a decent screen or better still a smallish tablet, you can look up, add and amend details, including images, while you are out and about. The tablet will be able to see the full version and any smartphone, including those of customers should you wish to include them in any data, would be visible via the app.

Sorry for the addition, just thinking on my feet.
