can you tell us a bit more about the magazine?

i am interested in advertising in it.

Yep, any previews? is domain magazine .co.uk the future domain for it?

It is in print only.

if you send me an email to moreinfo (at) dnuk.co.uk ill send you more details.

If people would like to submit domains to go in the magazine then email me at the above address.

is there a secret you can't share on here?

Is there any chance you can post what the magazine stands for, or what its about, or a ye old mission statement?

yeah sorry, think i should have done that in the first place.

It will hopefully be split into many areas as described below.

Domains directory.

Basically i think there should be something in place where people can have a printed version or refference of domains available for sale, wanted or even for rent in print so potential buyers and sellers, marketers etc can see what is available in thier own time rather scouring the forums, websites for domains - so basically im trying to bring it all in one place.

Domains sections.

Im hoping to get some interviews with domain buyers, sellers, people in the domain industry to give helpfull advice on domains etc but mainly promoting the value of the .uk market, why registering tms are bad for the industry and so on.

other sections will be affilliate, hosting, marketing, SEO and a few others

so if anyone in the above fields would like to contribute articles into any section above then please get in touch.

hope that helps.

Paul

Paul, whilst I think a .magazine would be a good idea, wouldn't it be a bit pointless printing domains for sale considering the following...

- the names may be pulled
- the names may hit a bin
- the prices may be inflated as they are printed
- you may print auctions / sales that will expire on the day of print / next day
- most auctions are for 7 days and i'm assuming your magazine is monthly.

my suggestion would be to print complete sales with prices and perhaps exclusives with buyers / sellers.

just my 2 cents

good points but the whole point is domain buyers (investors) hate trawling through forum after forum site after site for domains for sale etc this wil be a sort of yellow pages of domains for sale in that month. When people submit their domains they dont have to put prices tbh as it is only for people advertising domains are for sale. Also the magazine is not advertising domains for auction.

I don't want to sound critical cos it's a very good idea, but will there definitely be no internet version then? It kind of cutting against the grain that a domain name matter will be in print only, and a bit of slog getting it to market?

So is it really only for domainers then?

yes ive had this discussion many time over past few days so ill give you an example of a conversation i had with a regular domain buyer.

He has many clients who he purchases domains for who is in his client base, what he said is if a domain name is listed on a website for sale then 9/10 that domain will get indexed as for sale or sold which if his client is looking for a domain for branding purposes the last thing they want is this history in the search engines. So by having it in print only that eliminates that. Also he has monthly meetings with potential clients looking for domain names, again he says he hates posting on forums for domains wanted, looking around all the domains for sale posts, he would rather have something in print he can take to meetings etc.

It is a new venture so there will be blocks in the way but i think it could be a good refference tbh.

That's a fair point, they can then keep the history of their own interests in a domain 'off site' so to speak, yes? I presume the sellers can still advertise their domain for sale in the usual haunts though for possible sales elsewhere?

no, domainers, affiliates, marketers, SEO guys and so on

But anyone with a domain interest can subscribe to it, yes?
