Bit of a weird one and are onto Nominet and my registar as I type.

I bought a set of domains back in 2010. I transferred them to my hosting and my Nominet account.

We've let a few drop but carried on with others. Just looked to see when the ones we kept expire as we have developed them and noticed the NS are the same but the owner and TAG isn't with mine no more.

Bit more digging and I can see someone on here was offering them out in 2012 and so guess they are the owners.

They hadn't expired and then re-registered but transferred away.

Any advice welcome people!

Who did you buy the set off. Maybe they can help? What domain registrar are you with? There have been a few problems around here of late with 123-reg for instance in relation to domains appearing to be renewed when in reality they haven't been.

The domains moved over to me and was transferred 100% to my account (not 123-reg)

It didn't expire but the email changed on it and then transferred away to DAILY and another registrant.

Name servers kept as they were.

It wasn't transferred through my nominet account as they changed the email on the domain so they could control it through their account.

Not sure where the security has slipped or access been gained Nominet are saying my email connected to the domain had been altered to allow them access to change it.

The admin email can only be changed by the controlling registrar (some registrars will allow you to change it yourself through your control panel) or through your Nominet account. So it looks like someone has got into one of those systems to change the email.

Nominet should be able to tell you how it was changed - epp/automaton command from the registrar or manually via your Nominet account.

Thanks

Nominet have said it was through my registar and have a ticket open with them asking for log info on the contact changes.

What's your thoughts on someone on here offering them out, should i wait for more info or confront? They very rarely post so not a great idea me thinks.

How strange. Have you tried contacting the new owner to ask them how they came to own these names?

I sense Blood on the carpet - very soon.

Maybe Email, PM first with a 24hr response request before going publc, You never know there maybe another side to the story

I'd wait for Nominets response. It looks pretty dodgy but it's not necessarily the new registrant that's responsible for whatever has happened, he could have bought them in good faith from someone else.

Looks like it's a boob by myself and because it was such a small amount and still have them in my account i totally forgot.

With it still havin gan active site on it and in my account it tripped me up.

Their is only one domain thats maybe needed and so fingers crossed I'll have it back :)

Apologies everyone !

;) We've all done it, Just thankfully corrected ourself before going public thats all.

I've got a very strange feeling Golddiggerguy's talking about some 'Lincoln' names he sold to me previously on here! :) As I left them all on the original servers, he could easily confuse them as part of his portfolio.

Imagine waking up one day to find my name plastered all over here as a domain 'nabber' when I bought the names legitimately!
