Finding the Owner of a .co.uk domain (more WHOIS data needed!)

Hi all,

I am trying to find the phone number or email address of the owner of a .co.uk domain.

I've done several searches of this forum and also google, but cannot seem to answer this question

is there somewhere I can find how to contact the owner of a domain name?

The domain is registered, but there is no website

The whois database only shows a street address
- no phone number
- no email address

I've looked them up in the phone book but can't find the business name

Does anyone know a way to get a more comprehensive WHOIS result?

The first thing to try would be to send an email to the domain name.

eg webmaster@the domain name.co.uk

Although there is no website it may be that email is monitored, in fact that may be the reason the domain was purchased in the first place just for email. I have "my name" .co.uk which is my main email address but has no website.

don't use 192.com

use www.b4usearch.com - its free

also an oldie but a goodie: google the person's name, then google search"@thedomainname" and in google groups. Also try archive.org to see if the domain was in use before - if so, there may be contact info stored.

Never. They just reply with same pre-written text.

Have you never tried the Wayback Machine here..

When everything else fails, you might find that this does the trick.
