Just done a new build PC and noticed that Firefox 4 is now available.

On having a play, though slightly different to 3.6, I do like it.

Worth a look.

Been great for sales, had two Macs in with it. They are on 10.4.x so not compatible. One was a remove and reinstall 3.x other was an upgrade of OSX :D

Some nice new features, but not sure I like tabs above the browser bar.

Also finding it harder to find the reload button without thinking about it!

The orange drop down menu top left reminds me of Ubuntu.

George, I think there's a setting so you can move the tabs back below the browser bar.

Enjoying it, I have shifted to Chrome for my day to day browsing, but still using FF for web dev, thinking of switching back thanks to the performance boosts.

Yeah ive just done a new install, and new firefox out like it!

Anyone else find the font blurry? I Googled and found that for now I have to disable hardware acceleration in options...

@ Dave and redbird

Many thanks - that's me changed the tabs back to below the browser bar.

Couldn't see a View menu, but went:

Firefox (top right orange tab)-> Options -> Untick Tabs On Top

Strange as I don't see the orange tab. Anyway nice to have the tabs back where I can find them!

Probably me not explaining it very well. I mean the orange button I've circled in the above image.

Firefox says:

Firefox Button (Windows and Linux)

All your menu items are now found in a single button for easy access.

The only thing I don't like about it is, unless I have the menu bar on, I can't see the Page Title, and I like seeing that :)

I've been using the beta versions for a few months - big improvement on 3.6.

And if you have the menu bar on, the orange Firefox button disappears! That is why redbird isn't seeing it and why I don't see page titles!

After moving to chrome a couple of months ago I started using firefox again hoping that it would be a bit more stable and faster but it still suck despite all the fancy talks and new features.

The only things which I think are important in a browser are speed and reliability and firefox is nowhere to be seen compared to chrome.

The only thing which annoys me in chrome is that there is no dropdown box where you can click on and view recent/most visited sites just like ff and ie have.

Yes I am having to get used to the reload page and home button in different positions. Should come back with time.

Also had to change the setting to get the saved tabs prompt when closing the browser.

Where do you do that? Annoyed me when I closed it and lost them all!

Orange tab -> options -> options -> general - When firefox starts (select from drop down).

That was so not obvious I had to search the help to find it. Not something I'm in the habit of doing in the same way as reading a manual is adimitting defeat.

Why can't the installation just keep all your old settings ???
Put me off ugrading again now....

Thanks, got it now
