I love outbound. Or should I say I loved outbound...I'm often asked about outbound marketing a domain
If you hit it right, think outside the box, actually make a solid effort to find and contact the right group of people you can either make a sale or get a confirmed no.
There's all sorts of tools out there that can speed up the above. Ever heard of hunter.io - pretty badass tool. Million others out there just like it, but I prefer this one.
So with google and hunter you can quickly find companies and contacts within them. Then the email - again, people think there's some magical email. So if we pause for a moment, let me explain how I honestly see the outbound market (in my opinion). It really is online property. You really do begin to feel like an estate agent, because most things that you have, will only ever go to one person. Assuming you buy domains in the grey market - cheap ones and go to market those - you won't find people all over you begging for it. If it gets sold it will be to someone who feels it's a match for them. So you've got to keep doing viewings, showing people the property, giving them the stats, telling them what other similar properties sold for...
I mean that's part of it too...You can sell to anyone, anywhere - but there's a grind to it....
I fall in and out of love with outbound marketing. Some months, I just can't be bothered. It's a HUGE amount of effort, and sometimes you can have times where nothing is being sold that way or very little...
So at the moment, I'm going to cool it. Summer is upon us. Perhaps a good time to let go of some, and buy new ones....
I have no idea why I've written this post. I think I may still be hungover....
