54 Citroen Picasso fuel cap wont open with my key. It's Not Frozen & I Must only have a thimble of fuel left & cant fill up - not a happy bunny.

It turns very slightly then hits a wall.

Anyone had and got round this ?

Need to pick me lad up from school in 2 hours. :(

Thanks Rob it's not a remote release but an insert a key and turn one.

It's as if it's the wrong key and just wont budge past 5 degrees turning.

There might be ice inside the lock, get some dw40 down there or boiling hot water on your key then put your key straight in the lock.

So it's not the cap that is frozen, it sounds like something inside the mechanism that is frozen.

<< Did both with no effect.

Just Man handled it off and it looks like the lock had give up the ghost inside.

Panic over! ;)

Nothing like a bit of man handling to get the job done, If in doubt, give it a clout.

Get yourself a gas torch and use it to heat the fuel cap.

One a more serious note, a bit of wd40 should do the trick.

^^^ Is that not a bit dangerous

I think you would be better using a precise flame like an oxyacetylene torch to cut it off ;)

Haha, I'm sure people have tried things like that before.

Anyway, were 2hrs down the line, did you manage to sort it and pick up the kids?

Kids? Huh? Aah crap I spent all afternoon fiddling with my fuel cap and the kids are still waiting at school/nursery :)

I've heard there is a chemical in urine that will help open the fuel cap on all Citroen Picasso's... give it a go :p

Yeah, I've heard the same chemical is in faeces, so if you have an empty bladder but have some 'passengers waiting in the departure lounge', drop them off.

Or just do what Barry probably does, damn, fuel cap broken, ok, buy new car :)

lol, you been looking at my facebook :p

Personally i feel there is nothing wrong with a little bit of widdle sprinkled finely over a dust cap or two, i do it to my friends all the time...... just blame the pesky foxes :p

Reminds me of that bloke in America who tried to soften up some C4 by belting it with a hammer. He never did that again.

Glad to see you took my advice GD (Gotta love google live cams)
