thought i might tempt people to suggest keywords that generate more that 0.5 euro per click in parking - or is this against sedo policy?

Hi, I'm not sure Charlie but a question i would love to know the answer to aswell if there's anybody with this very useful knowledge it would help boost what little sedo earnings we acheive?

regards

i got a fun feeling this is against sedo policy was waiting for invincible for the definitive answer before continuing :D

anyone know?

thats what i was suggesting - as you've broken the ice rob my odd-er payer currently is
storage

ps : you got any domains that get hits for online poker then rob? I have a number of london based casino names that some how get traffic on a regular basis.

nice site SB
trouble is that i'm sure sedo never turn over the whole click amount to you and set a limit on the contribution passed. Hence for a loan one they bag £100 and you get £2.01 :D

oh well - you dont get rich lying down!

Yes Charlie, that's why if you develop the domain you get a much greater share of the 'ad revenue.

For me, even a small amount of traffic can easily out do what you can earn on Sedo. It's well worth the trouble for some of your better names.

Storebuilder

can you please do me favour and explain what the
figures etc mean,in lay mans terms, on your web site ??.

Thanks
DG

Sorry, just all of them really what the meaning of them are
where i see say "credit deals $130" etc etc what does
that actually mean ?.

Thanks
DG

Can you be a bit more specific? Which site - which page?

Ah! I get it. http://www.adsenseheaven.com is not my site. I just provided it for reference.

Where it says "credit deals" $130 then it means that $130 is the bid on that keyword at google.

So if you build a site targeting the finance industry and get top listings for "credit deals" then you can resell the advertising space on your site using contextual advertising - adsense is exactly what this is.

So the idea is to build a site targeting the high paying keywords - if you know what those keywords are.

Following on from this, as in the dropcatching business, everyone "in the know" is targeting those keywords and building sites for them so you need to be good at search engine optimisation to make a success of it.

You can only have ten results on the front page of the returned search (as it stands) - everyone else has to pay - hence google adwords which is the sponsored listing on the right. And that sponsored listing is becoming very expensive to have - as you can see.

It's also possible to buy adwords space on google and redirect it to Overture - in essence this is "traffic arbitrage" buying traffic at the lowest price and reselling it at a higher one.

When I talk about developing domains it is exactly for this reason: The cost of buying traffic is very expensive.

I manage campaigns for people who are spending 15K+ every month on adwords - but it is feasible because the returns are greater if your business model supports it.

When you see how much people are paying for some keywords it's frightening. And it puts what you (domainers in general) are getting from Sedo in terms of revenue into stark perspective.

Thanks very much for that indepth insight, which shows
me I am just playing at this game and dont get in to
so much depth,I merely put up a few relevant banners
and thats it. Mind you £1,300 in 1 month is'nt bad is it,
in commission ,or is that normal ?. When I first got into the
net in about 1996 I had a feeling search engines as first
point of call would have huge potential ,if only...

DG

Most people would be ecstatic at earning £1,300 per month. At this level "most" people could give up their day job and concentrate on it full time.

If you can do that by just sticking up a few banners then what's possible by taking it seriously?

That's a good return DG, what site / domain / keyword are you making that on?

Do you have any examples of your sites?

Rob ,dont misunderstand me but want to keep the domain
names I use quiet case I get sued for trademark ,but they
financial ,insurance related mainly and the affiliations
I use are Lloydstsb , GO and Budget mainly. Maybe
the £1,300 is a fluke and next month probably get 0 ?.
Also about £350 of that is from a ringtone site with jamster.

DG

Hi DG,
I am looking to set up a ringtone related site and wondered if you could give me advice on how to go about setting up affiliation with Jamster (there's no info on their website) and do they pay the most for ppc? How much?

Any help much appreciated, and thanx to storebuilder as I visited your site this morning and it is full of interesting tips, discussion and just about everything you need to know about marketing.

Regards

Genius

Yeah - you don't want to get sued by trademark.

The Lloydstsb affiliate program is really cool. I use it myself and they pay great commissions.

You asked me to explain in "laymans terms" what the figures meant and that's what I did. What's your problem?

ever get time to make use of all of its another matter

Thanks
DG
