I have submitted a site to around 30 relevant directorys today , but one thing i have done is used the same description for each of the directorys i have submitted to......will this be class as duplicate content ....have i wasted my time ?!?!?

Since you've only submitted it to a small amount of directories, odds are it wont count as dupe (I know people who submit the same thing to thousands and get no problems). Personally I advice changing a few of the words / the whole description & Title every five or so submissions - remember only around 50% get accepted nowadays to relevant HQ directories.

You haven't wasted your time though, 30 relevant (albeit directory sites) link are a great start to seo :)

I don't think you need to be all too worried about this. I bet every directory web page have rather different code and content. If submitting to 30 directories, I'd suggest using about 5-6 different descriptions.

If you added yourself to some other directories - and obviously forums, social bookmarking, articles etc to give a variety of links - and use different descriptions and anchor text for each one, then the similarity of anchor text will get diluted.

Don't forget, directories can sometimes take weeks or months to approve your link and, once added, can then take a while to get indexed. Therefore, the fact you added these on one day may not be so significant in the scheme of things.

thank you for the advice , i have noticed that i have only been accepted thus far on 4 or so directorys....it really does take ages.
