Hello,

I'm not a domainer by trade, in fact I'm far from it.

Currently I am doing my finals in Economics at York and thought what better way to spend my finance money then on some domains.

To be fair, I see domaining as a interest and therefore would like to 'test the water'. Today I registered my first ever two names, albeit they have low results but nevertheless they are keyword rich and have develop me screaming at me.

Rgds

Howdy Jack,

Welcome! Hope you have had a read and ask for advice before diving in too deep.

What are you goals? Make money, develop websites, buy sell domains at a profit?

Care to share the 2 domains?

To be fair, I'm not sure yet.

I've listed the two names below, I'm not sure how this board treats spiders so I've un-hyperlinked them. Maybe I will create an affiliate site of some kind.

Diningroom^org^uk
Diningrooms^org^uk

P.S I presume your location Hullywood is Hull? Not too far away.

Welcome Jack and a fairly decent pair of fresh reg's. I wouldn't have bothered with the plural but why not :)

Best of luck with domaining.

I completely agree, however if I ever come to sell them then they will probably go as a pair and I think I've done well spotting these two.

The exacts are low though, which is surprising as I thought dining rooms are quite common in England. If I was to make this an affiliate site with dining room products would the low exacts effect it's rank in the SE's?

The amount of exacts a term has will have no effect on your position in the search engines... If I understand you right.

Looking at the current top results the main ones are restaurants! Which unfortunately could be what some of the searchers are looking for. However it does mean that competition isn't very high for that term and no major retailers are targeting it.

I think developing it into something like this: http://www.housetohome.co.uk/dining-room

Would be a good idea.

Yeah, thats the type of site I would be looking to develop. It's strange that the top results are restaurants as you would have thought there would be many dining room furniture sites ect. Diningroom is the proper term for the room right?

Cheers for your help.

'Dining room' is the proper term, it's just people looking for furniture will add 'furniture' onto the end of their search (which incidentally is predicted by Google when you type in just 'dining room' anyway).

Not a bad pair though as first domains, have seen far worse.

Welcome to the forum. :)

P.S. You should use your full name when registering domains though and not just an inital for your surname.
