Hello guys

I am looking for some help from anyone out there.
I recently found interested end user in buying my domain name and that person did not pay me - she was from the UK , after sending her emails from different email address she replied nearly immidietaly but not to my emails.

What would you advice in this case? The domain didnt cost much but it's all about rules, would you be able to offer any help in regaining the domain or payment ? I know it is not your business at all but it always hurts and doesnt feel good

Would anyone be able to prepare a short correct english text which I could send or something like that?

Thank you and best wishes to everyone

Lucas

Tell her that you will file a money claim in Small Claims Court in the UK against her, you can do it online. It worked for me.

Is this a domain that you physically owned, or was it one of these that you've recommended an FTR for someone to buy for a small commission ? If its the later then learn from your mistake, if its a domain which you actually owned and done and Nominet transfer then get in touch with Nominet, not sure they would do anything without a DRS but worth a try.

It was a domain which was registered by myself some time ago and she agreed to pay i know she is ingorning my emails and not willing to finalize the payment it wasnt big money - 99 .

Doesn't sound like the 'interested buyer' has taken custody of the domain.

In time, Snuzzy, you will find that in this game there are some who always negotiate but never buy!

His post says 'any help in regaining the domain' so I would assume the person has taken the domain and not paid. I would look at a small claim court or solicitors involvement.

It is not the money it's the principle. If you roll over and 'take it as a lesson' that really just translates as 'let people walk all over you' so who is the lesson for? This is theft. Someone steals 99 or 9900 pounds from me I'm getting it back. For the OP find all your options - be the hunter not the prey ;)

Thank you guys for your posts, well frankly I was contacting with several emails and was threatened to be reported to police for... threatening - read as asking for payment or domain back.
I think I will just give up , I needed that money but I don't need more problems, it is sometimes hard to sell a domain and offering transfer before payment might be treated by someone more attractive option but they can just scamm.

Got to pick your fights

The time and potential stress wouldn't be worth it for me

Well at least let us know all their details so we know never to deal with them. email and domain should be enough to find out more about them.

How was the domain transferred? just out of interest

Also let them 'report you to the police'. Maybe then they can explain why it's ok for them to steal....

Through godaddy transfer from account to account

So was it put in their name without them actively having to do anything? or did they physically have to do anything to accept it?

Sure understood. However I think everything is worthwhile and it also teaches thieves a valuable life lesson. That's probably why nobody has ever managed to steal from me although some have tried. Also emails don't cost anything but contacting abuse departments can sometimes yield interesting results.

Time is not priceless - if it was you'd never do anything as it wouldn't be worth it ;)

Do Godaddy now do full rights transfers ? In the past you could push to another godaddy account for free, but you then had to do a nominet transfer to change the whois and registrant email, if they still do that then you could just login to nominet , change the tag of the domain to something like Namecheap and then transfer into namecheap for $7.

Obviously if Godaddy do now change registrant email and whois details..........probably little you can do other than raise a complaint with godaddy as an abusive transfer.
