Hi there everyone, complete newbie looking to learn more about domaining.

Some background info, just finished uni and i guess i am now unemployed, got a lot of time on my hands and im looking to make use of this by learning as much as i can about domaining. Own a couple of affiliate sites.

Worst domain i have ever bought jungleme.co.uk - no idea what i was thinking, was about 16 when i first bought it.

Best domain- tough one, couldn't say any were particulary great, but I do own greenshopuk/co/uk and petiemaxidress/org/uk

Welcome iamrofe - nice intro. There's some good bods on Acorn, enjoy the company

Welcome to the forum. Don't buy too many domains before you've sold at least one and have done your research.

The easy test I do for developing is, what can I sell on it and what kinda percentages will I get.

Check the affiliate networks out, and see what's there. Some things go upto 50% commission but only have a conversion of 1-2% making you £10 each where others have 8% commission and a conversion of 10% and make £5 each.

If the affiliates offer nothing, check out who is advertising on there and what the adverts are paying out. Maybe you can make the money there.

If you can't sell anything on it, then its all about experience.

Welcome to the forums iamrofe. Im sure you will learn a few tricks here! ;)
