Hi,

Just wondering what you thought this is worth...what would I be offered on this forum for a quick sale?

Thanks.

I would guesstimate a quick sale here could easily happen at £5k, but it is likely to be worth a lot more than that, thanks mainly to a certain Australian female singer.

Rgds

Well I was thinking around 10-20k personally. The domain would get thousand of visits per day still surely, even though the forum is moved to another domain

I'm surprised Neil is selling it - what's the reason for sale?

He has transfered the forum he had up to another domain and has decided to cash in on the domain. I will be acting as a broker for him after I have gathered all the information.

If interested please contact me via PM

1.5k ish tops

kylie and her fan club don't care about .co.uk's

i'll eat my mouse if some muppet gives you 10k for it..

Kylie and her fan club visit the site between 2000 and 5000 times daily. They cant be that uncaring. It rises to 400,000 uniques a month when she is in Britain or when the media attention is stronger on her.

It would be rather amusing to see you eat a mouse. Perhaps we should get that filmed if I manage to prove you wrong :p

Nick.

It is indeed just the name...the forum is moved onto another domain name. The current owner admitted that there should have been more monitization but unfortunately this was not done. I think this would have helped a lot.

However, personally I beleive that it is worth a lot more than £1.5K

What does it take to get a domain into the premium section, emailed admin and rjs_essex but no reply from either. Also submitted it in th actual forum but it looked like it went in to a queue or something.

I'd prob pay a grand of my dogs inheretance for the name only.

You just make a post about it into the premium section and then wait for it to be approved :)

I would rate it as worth more than £1.5k.

49,000 local exact search volume on adwords tool. There could be a lot of type in traffic and there must be quite a few existing backlinks. I used to run a Kylie site - Kylie Shop (now only a minisite) - and I was well aware of the Kylie.co.uk site and the forum that went with it.

There is a lot of merchandise surrounding Kylie, lingerie range, Kylie at Home, Bedlinen, not to mention music related collectables. So would be easy to monetise.

Stephen.

I dont, mainly as the added 'value' is based off the singer.

Is there anything that would prevent it being lost if challenged by Miss Minogue?

I completely discounted the Minogue link based on what I'd pay for a similar name of anyone else :)

Just noticed the record label runs the kylie.com site.

Stephen.

yes the record label owns the .com version.
Inbound links are about 135 as far as I can tell and I am not sure of the percentage of type in traffic versus serach engine traffic. But i assume the SE traffic is quite high with the domain appearing number 1 on Google for a lot fo kylie related terms such as 'kylie', 'kylie minogue' 'kylie fansite etc'. However, I do assume that there is a lot of type in traffic because with there being a very popular form on there the regular visits will type it in.

Also refering to Brassnecks post above - the current owner used to have affiliate links on the site, he took them down for some reason, not sure why, but he used to get £1500 per month in affiliate commission on merchandise, ticket sales etc...this figure rose to £2500+ when Kylie announced new tour dates.

I still think £1.5K is on the very low side.

Also, the owner has been in contact with Kylie's manager over the years for various reasons, mainly because the forum that was up on the site was, and still does rank above the official .com version. He has told me no one related to Kylie and her team have shown any incling that they would issue a law suit. So no TM issues as far as I am aware.

nparkin0, I still wouldnt buy due to the potential TM, all well and good saying you don't think so, but its still possible, which is why many will value the name alone without the minogue money.

I have a fair few firstnames for popular singers and took one warning across the bow for me to pull the majority off namedrive.

Skinner, that is fine. I have already been questioned on this issue and the seller is willing to sign a contract saying he has not had any bother with TM since registration. I also think the fact that Kylie and her management team as well as record label have been well aware of the domain for a long time would point to them not having any issues with it.

I totally respect your opinion though
