haha - so I find a couple of things hilarious:
1) people who still believe they can make a full time income through DL alone - HAHAHA wake the F up - look at the stats. It is close to impossible just based on the volume of trades - WAKE UP!!!!!!!
2) people leave money on the table. If you are new at domaining and don't want to throw darts at a dart board - STOP LEAVING MONEY ON THE TABLE. Open your eyes. Here's an example of making money - I just noticed a domain on DL Has a bid. The domain is WeddingWishList.co.uk - now the .uk is not part of the deal but is available to register. HELLLLOOOOOO - buy that and list it. That at least increases your chances for a deal....
For the last couple of years, I had great success with outreach. But after a while, you start to get a bit lazy, a bit complacent, because suddenly you've got a pool of buyers to take your domain. When people ask me the best way of selling, I truly believe it's a combination of good outreach, grey market trades, e.g. domainer to domainer, client list, auctions, forums. But like anything in life it's the 80/20 rule. 80% of trades will come from 20% of your outputs.
Anyway, I'm rambling. Stop thinking DL is a salary, and start to look at it properly and at least go for the lower hanging fruits.....
I think perhaps some of the veterans in this forum should also highlight the point that DL is not an income stream for domains.
