Is it possile to get a live(ish) view of the domains that are being registered as they are taken?

I ask because it appears that when I register just the .com (or just the .co.uk) of a domain that hasnt had any interest at all so far, someone else seems to register the .biz's the next day.

Not really , out of interest who do you register names with? It is possible that someone is logging them and then nabbing them.

I use 123-reg.co.uk
I did find a site where you can search through the domains registered yesterday... perhapse someone's is speculating that whoever just bought a particular .com will want the .biz one day so buy it off them?

Could be that, its just harder for .uk than .com

With com etc the zone gets published so its easy to track. A Nominet member could be tracking your registrations via the PRSS. However if thats the case I would move house and get a tinfoil hat ;)

It is more than likely people just trying anything to make a couple of quid... with the logic 'if the dot XYZ is taken I will reg ABC' ;)

Cheers,
Rob.

thanks rob,
I would just like to apologise for wasting your time, I just realised what happened, it was just me having a doh! moment, sorry.

I parked the domains in question after reging them so of course they were probably flashed to half the world as 'newly added domains'
I'll get my coat.
Dave:oops:
