Our first attempt earning some proper wonga is now on display.

Members feedback welcome.

Hi Simon,

unless you have sorted a deal with Google this goes against their terms and conditions. There is no text on the page for adverts to compliment which is the whole idea of contextual adverts and Google ads in particular.

Unless you change this pronto, expect to either have the adverts blocked or have an email from them asking you to put it right, pretty soon.

I think the header is nice.

The old page was a page of ppc links / affiliate banners, so is this ?

To be quite honest Simon, I think it's shocking. Such a good name wasted.

Employ someone who knows what they are doing and get a mega site up. One that will earn hundreds of thousands not pennies.

If you need a recommendation of a developer I think would do it justice let me know, I'm thinking communities, guides, reviews... but you'll need to spend £30-£40k to get it right, but given time it could be worth a fortune.

Best of luck, and before some cheeky so and so says... ratboy your sites look crap, "yeah i kno" - got a plan! Just been down this route (above).

Quite right Ratboy I agree with what you say, that,s where I am trying to get to as quickly as possible.

London.co.uk

all development proposals concidered, apply whithin.

Simon

I have to agree with Ratboy.. If I had this name I would be pumping as much in to it as I could possibly afford on development. Theres not a single doubt in my mind you would make a mint from this.

Contact a large london desgin firm, most imo would be very interested to get this contract!

Ratboy's said it in a nutshell, it is a good domain name wasted.

It's worth taking out a mortgage to get this one sorted, it's that valuable!

I was hinting towards that , but I totally agree.

Please do something nice with it or sell it to someone who will - I promise to take good care of it if the latter!

What kind of development budget do you have?

This has been discussed before, but why not sell off a few of your more minor geographicals and concentrate on turning london.co.uk and some of the other super-prime names into a multi-million-pound a year business with the proceeds?

Looking back to the threads on this name a couple of months ago there was talk of getting a team together to work on it etc.

Has that happened?

As before I will suggest As a few others have already mentioned, it could be worth getting advice from active domainers / web dev agencies etc as I believe whoever advised you to do the 'minimum' to 'show trading' was barking up the wrong tree.

I would go further and say if a team was formed, either development or advice, and all they came up with was the current site I would have serious words and I really hope you didnt pay for it or give a %age away.

I am developing up a decent domain and it has taken a few months behind the scenes (so far) so I can sympathise with the issues of doing a good job, but you need budget, commitment and a proper plan with inputs from pro's in the relevant niches.

I would call 'pros' people who do their niche day in day out with top results, not just people with opinions or stuff they have read about the 'interweb' and the billions to be made by banners on 'internet pages' or 'internet names' with AJAX'ed up Web 6.1 uber java flash.

Let us all know what the situation is and I am sure there are people reading this thread who can offer sound advice and pointers for free, and some with the specialisation or contacts to take things further in a realistic priced way.

Cheers,
Rob.

I agree with you all.

Edwin

I Don't necessarily need to sell off to develop the prime names. I am trying hard to find someone who can come up with a clear detailed plan that I like.

What to do is obvious.

Doing it without getting done like a kipper is proving a bit of a tease.

However, while London still stands I still have a chance.

I just hope someone can help me put a proper plan together that I can get implemented

Frustrated of Witham

PS I am talking to some knowledgeable people who are being very helpfull. When I say kipper I am of course referring to some chaps who had me going for a bit at the DF event (no names no pack drill)

don't worry what you see is just me and my IT chaps fiddling about till we workout what to do

Can understand you being cautious Simon but in the time between your previous thread and now you've probably lost out on earnings which would've paid twice over for the site to be properly developed. Nobody knows what the future holds, you may not have infinite time as the owner of that domain and the earning potential may not be there forever.

You are right I am missing out on income. I am cautious because it is better to do nothing and wait for the right deal.

I have, I kid you not, been offered a PPC platform by a guy who said he would make me loads of money. My chaps looked at the site "he built for me" and most of the code is ripped right out the back of visitlondon.com

sedo auction

i thought this name was on the sedo auction? I think a buyer or yourself will need enormous cash to make it work.....I don't see a need to spend so much on one name given many other names exist....too much choice exists at the moment....in time, of course, this will change.

Talk to someone who has developed a proper domain name about this, not the con artists or small players about. This domain needs proper work from experianced people.
