Evening all,

I'm still quite new at the domain game, and so am still trying to get a handle on domain name values. I'm slowly getting to grips with the standard 99/92 day drops, but having a harder time with "pre-noms".

Do all the same rules apply?

Rightly or wrongly, my gut feeling, and I have a big gut :-(, would be that Radio.co.uk ( one guess who got that! ) was the domain with the biggest potential cash value.

But which of todays pre-nom drops would you put in the top 5 ?

How about a guestimate of their value?
(Yes, I realise it depends on the buyer, etc)

FisherMan.

Top 3 maybe

Seeing as the guy/gal who got radio.co.uk also got removals.co.uk & campbell.co.uk too, that's probably 3 of the 5 best today!

guess the playground from the last prenom drop's still open then?

tut tut nominet...

Jay,

What does the dev who came up with the latest random drop time generator have a PHD in? Pottery perhaps?

Nice to see european.co.uk going to one of the smaller catchers :) , there's hope yet of catching a decent prenom.

Slater,

Of all the pre-noms that dropped yesterday, european.co.uk is of particular interest to me, as it's mine :D :-D

As I said, I'm still new to this game, so now need to work out the best way to dispose of it.

Any idea of its potential value ?

Well done, but you are 'late' to the pre nom game.

..but the ref is about to blow the final whistle :)

then we'll all start monitoring the "before 1996" but hopefully with a level playing field! :)

ps how many prenoms left? I've not done a search for a while but deleting hasn't many left...

I was chatting to someone on the pre nom team yesterday and he suggested that there are very few left, and that all of them will either be converted to nom reg status or cancelled by end of year.

Can't imagine too many of those will become available :)

Why would that be a more level playing field? It is well know to be bumpy and uneven. What would change? :)

Good news for him but a tad frustrating for everyone else.

The more I practice, the luckier I get. Tiger Woods

Some will and have...

bumpy and uneven? Maybe a big roller would help?

The catching of yesterday's pre noms was interesting. One was cancelled and then caught within 2 seconds. The suspension date was only in July. The cancel button was pushed yesterday to set up the random drop moment. It shouldn't have been possible to expect the domain to go when it did. In view of query limits how was it done?
