I suppose it is time to address why we don't "weed out" the Sold Domains section (previously I was deleting all domains sold under £1k +-).
Some of you are working (or planing to do so, like us) on domain name valuation tools. For this > you will need a database of previously sold domain names, and preferably getting this data for free. We continue working on being a free agregator of this data > wish to use this and maybe your scraper gets blocked by our security layers >> please contact me or @Admin so we can help you with this.
Also, these posts help us all seeing which marketplaces sell UK domains more often than others. Currently DomainLore is an absolute leader here - maybe this will start changing is @ukbackorder, @Transcom ISP, @godaddy starts sharing the data. It is nice seeing that @fruits.co and @nameshift are also selling the names regularly (we understand that not all sales can be reported publicly).
if the question is: has anyone asked for this data? Yes, a German developer (not sure I may mention him) has asked me already if we would assist him on gathering this data from Acorn (and other regional forums we run).
The UK domain space will be changing soon: @nicsell (probably the largest European dropcatcher) are considering to enter the UK space, Kalin and his seo.domains team (120+ people team) are already catching UK names and selling these at their marketplace (if I am not wrong), Flip.uk isn't gone anywhere (brand to be watched), Namesilo and catch.club will be at the Domain Summit this September (guess why?), Above.com are considering opening UK base and actively plan their next movements (also, will be attending Domain Summit in September), we have at least couple new marketplaces built (or just about to be built) by 2 members of ours, @sedo are occasionally reporting huge UK sales (yes, we know the most large sales don't get reported).. and these are only the companies that I know more or less (everyone, of course, is very secretive).
so, the space is very active, even though it might seem that only Domain Lore are selling UK names regularly.. this is how publicly reported sales can paint an image of a sucessful business.
We will keep publishing more and more data at Acorn (takes lots of time getting these feeds) > feel free to use it for building your own tools and better knowledge of the market.

question: shall we maybe exclude the "Sold Domains" from the "What's New" page? how would you do this?

proud to maintain Acorn as a neutral city (as much as I can) and friendly (by intention) to all our citizens and visitors.
