My ND revenues have been steadily decreasing since October - anyone finding the same thing?
Same with click through ratios and revenue per click.
CTR is down more than 25%.
PPC has almost halved.
Might just be a seasonal thing related to my domains.

Our account with NameDrive is fairly new so don't have a lot to compare with. Some of the bids are very good - sometimes around $5 on financial domains but CTR can be a bit disappointing but this could be improved if the related searches could be reduced to half a dozen more relevant searches and if account holders were given ability to pick these for themselves. NameDrive did a bespoke site for a customer recently which looked great and had just half a dozen very relevant search results. It looked very good and must have had a great effect on CTR. So come on Ed - is there any chance of a similar template and a facility for choosing our search results?

Sedo have definitely reduced their payouts since the heady days of the Pro launch. Some payouts are still very good but starting to see some low ones appearing and all categories are down a bit. It could be a seasonal thing tho' and for those of us who aren't into 'gift' type domains (for which the season is about 4 good weeks) its a matter of looking forward to January. Looking at our figures for last December it declined to about 50% of normal earnings in early Dec then down to 30% of normal earnings in Christmas week before bouncing back strongly in Jan. So enjoy your Christmas, don't panic and look forward to the New Year :)

Remember that if companies are lowering their max PPC then overall the effect will lower revenue across the board.

I know that many businesses treat december as a dead month (business services) so this may effect. Gift sites and CPC will be higher during Christmas.

Think this is just a seasonal problem.

Great - ish! Thanks for your comforting concurring thoughts on this!.

My gift related ppc is doing ok, but not great guns. I think I will transfer to some sort of affiliate scheme for some of them.

My thoughts are that there is so much christmas advertising out there, everywhere you see, that general gift domains aren't where people would necessarily go. More specific gift domains seem to be getting better results despite lower traffic.

And, yes, as for the general business stuff. I don't think I'd be trying to apply for a mortgage just before christmas if I had the choice of things to be doing with my time. I can see that I'd much more likely apply for a big loan just after christmas to pay off all my credit card debts though!

By the way, Nigel, I think that NameDrive *can* change your links if you ask them.

If you supply the links you want they'll put it on their (very long) to do list.

I know that they are astoundingly busy at the moment and having trouble keeping up with alot of the suggestions they've had.

Hi there,

Sorry. Astoundingly busy is the word. Being bought lunch by a customer (feel free to follow suit :))

Really, we are very busy at the moment. End of the month, doing the payouts etc. AQLS, if you let me know your account, then I can certainly have a look for you to see what's going on and see if I can offer any assistance. APD, was that Sedo or ND you meant? :)
To be quite honest, November's revenue across our system was down - not drastically, but down. At any rate, we have set several things in motion to improve CTR, PPC, earnings, joy, across the board. We're convinced, seasonal changes or not, that things are going to improve in December.
We're already seeing the effects on our system. Expect new pages, expect improvements everywhere.
A lot of people forget we've only been here 3 months. I know your alternatives have been around for donkey's years, but we have to battle daily to ensure we innovate, modify and progress. We have a new page design that is looking really good. If we had the tech resources that the bigger companies have, you wouldn't recognise us from one day to the next.
Nigel, I know I've been promising this for ages with the related searches. For easy solutions, we do have the ability to set 12 related searches on a domain by domain basis - just send us the 12 you'd like in a txt file and we can implement them. On an account basis, I know we were halfway there for you, so I'll have to ask tech what happened with this.
No comment on reduced payouts elsewhere...
December is usually a buzzing parking month. We want this to come across. Like I said, our whole system was lower last month but we're doing everything we can to get them back up again. Maybe everyone was saving energy for December. The joy of Google.

AQLS, I look forward to hearing from you. I want to get to the bottom of this.

Have a good evening, everyone. I know I've been quiet on here, but I'll hopefully have lots to shout about soon.

Ed
