Hi All,

Looking for an appraisal on Shoes_org_uk

Category killer name can be optimised for for big exact keywords such as running, womens, designer, golf shoes etc.

Did have plans for development but too busy at the moment.

I know .org.uk's are picking up in value and are very easy to rank.

We have Rugs_org_uk and it's ranking on page 5 of Google.co.uk from a 1 page site and a handful of links after 1 month...

If the right offer comes along we may be tempted to sell.

Cheers,

Ben.

If you are too busy to develop a "category killer" then I'll offer you a ton for it.

P.S. I fecking hate that term "category killer" please don't use it unless you are trying to be (P)Rick Schwartz etc etc :)

I sold clothes.org.uk a couple of months ago on DL for about £650. Would probably put a similar value on shoes. You might even just get back what you paid for it.

In that case, I'll drop my offer to 50 quid :)

I think its a good product generic and has an £x,xxx value in my opinion.

Recent Product org.uk Sales:

Diamonds.org.uk - £4,055
Suits.org.uk - £2,000
Wigs - £700

I can see the .org.uk markt growing as decent product generics are all but dried up.

Will hold onto, develop and add value when we get the time, I was just testing the water...

Sorry 50 squid isn't going to cut it...

I agree with you, that's why I made the offer... it's not worth 4 figures, 200 quid tops, it's a .org.uk

Good luck with making a site with it.

I think it's worth £1000+. It's a nice name. Some rather formidable competition in the rankings mind.

Problem is with .org.uk is that they are only going to be used by affiliates and if the keyword is very competative such as shoes or dresses they just don't stand a chance. Google now ranks all the .co.uk merchants first so unless whoever buys it spends a load of money on backlinks, seo, social media they are looking at the bottom of page 2 if they are lucky.

That's bullshit... you just made that up....

When you make ridiculous claims such as 'google ranks co.uk first' he doesn't need justification. You're just wrong.

I'll be interested to see what you get for it if you sell it, I'm finding the org.uk market on AD a bit difficult to fathom atm...

Some reported sales seem way too high from my perspective when good keyword org.uk names are sat on Acorn unsold at £xx to low £xxx

In saying this, it's not trying to diss the extension (I just bought InsuranceQuotes.org.uk myself) I just don't get some of the sales prices is all.

Nice buy Ty.

I put shoes up for discussion as I saw books.org.uk in the premium section.

Im not trying to compare the names, just wanted some views on Shoes.

Would be helpful if you gave reason's why you think I am wrong?!?

I gave you my reason... you are talking shite...

I have many .org.uk names ranking well above .co.uk in google. Search engines like content, does not matter if it is not the best content, but if you have content on a .org.uk domain compared to a parked .co.uk domain, then it's no contest...

In saying that, if the owner of the .co.uk decides to throw up some content too then you're fucked :)

I disagree with this, I think org.uk's are pretty close to .co.uk in google's eyes - if not matching. I haven't done any research to this extent but it just seems that way.

http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=wardrobes

for example :/

Nah, In my experience, if the .co.uk has comparable content, does not have to be better, then big bad G will rank it higher.. if it's just a parked page with a few hundred words, then the .org.uk will blow it out the water..

(anyway, fuck google, they are a bit part player now, bing is gradually biting in to the pie) and google can't dominate forever, although they think they can, but they can't)

Don't be evil...... but let's collate all the data we can.......

can we please keep the language down please...Thank you...

The thing with books.org.uk is that people love to buy books online, it's more difficult to find as many people wanting to buy shoes online when they can't try them on (although I'm sure there are some).

Gotta be worth xxx though
