I shouldn't part with £5,000 on a .biz I really like

I know it's a hineous crime to commit in a uk domain forum, but this domain fits the bill and needs to be a gtld for the project.

Why not wait a few weeks, and get a .whatever for 20-30 quid when the new GTLD launch?

Or do you think that the .biz extension is "known enough" that it's worth paying the £4,980 premium?

(I don't hate .biz - I have about half a dozen - but I've never really got the impression that it has registered much in the mind of end-users)

1) not sure that anyone is clambering over .biz.
2) £5000 is a lot of money

Still, my point are very general. It may be that you're a man with a plan.

The fact you're asking the question suggests you have doubts.....If you do have doubts then £5000 is a lot of money (unless you happen to be a millionaire)

Personally I wouldn't buy a .biz for any money now.

Depends on the name? For some resale value, if name brings extra traffic, the competitions strength; dominance, the acceptance of target market, possible kudos, etc are all contributing factors.

It may look to some as if budget is insufficient to break into market hence going for lesser extension which sometimes could hinder raising extra capital ( looks like com.s poor cousin sort of thing ) For me ultimately listing and profit count more than the extension?

wtf £5k on a .biz ... are you mad?

Sorry it was always a dead dog as a suffix and completely spammy. I am sure there are some companies using them quite legitimately, but as Edwin says - wait a few weeks and you'll have lots of choice - which in turn (if you really want that .biz) shoudl also make that a hell of a lot cheaper too!

Good luck
TW

imo there isn't a single .biz that is worth £5000. I wouldn't pay it for paydayloans, carinsurance or anything else.

Your all right.. its not even sex.biz! The new tlds won't work for this, thx for your thoughts.

There are not many .biz that ever sell in that range...
I am biased too, but if you really have 5K to spend you have plenty of choice as a buyer.
