Is there a way I can check dates the tag was changed on a name?

1and1 are getting nasty about me paying for names they say theve renewed, which I know were transferred away many months ago.

Nom should be able to tell you the full history of who did what.

I was quite surprised the other day when Nominet told me over the phone exactly when a domain I had just registered had previously expired, who had previously owned it, how many times it had been renewed, when notices were sent out etc etc etc. and this was some time after it was deleted. (I was calling up after an inquiry from a 3rd party saying the name was theirs, nom records showed that they had let it expire).

I'd give them a call if I were you.

What is the last updated date in whois? if that is before the renewal then that would be the proof as it will have changed on TAG update, but of course there may have been other updates since then that would change it, but still a chance there weren't any.
