EEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNDDDDD!!!

What's the general concensus then peeps..? Forza England??

How long will it take him to realise that this country and it's press is not really interested in kicking a ball through a goal. We have a much better sport, it's called manager baiting and he's the next mug to be targeted.

I feel sorry for the poor guy, he has no idea what he has just let himself in for :p:p

hes worth every penny

Nobody should be worth this much. It is a grotesque amount.

His annual salary is enough to save the sight of 1 MILLION, TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND children per annum.

and for what? to bring home a bit of silverware.

Quote
Just £25 would help save the sight of up to five people in East Africa, allowing them a better chance of survival in harsh conditions and the ability to support their families.

This isn't a personal attack. It is aimed at the board.........

Search your soul and tell me what really matters. A bit of silverware or a child that is given the chance to see the world.

Just think about it for 30 seconds and tell me if he is still worth £6 million a year.

Somethng is very wrong with this world.

it's called economics..

6 mill isn't a great deal compared to other individuals wealth..

Mate if they'd have paid £6 million last time, maybe they'd be in the European Championships next summer and have £100 million through sponsorship.

Now then, how many kids will £100 million help? (probably none as they aren't going to give it to the kids, but you get more point)

They can pay someone good £6 mil or pay me £100 a week and miss out on £100 mil every 2 years.

The number of kids projects that they have had to be mothballed because of the clown McClaren's failure to qualify hasn't even been realised yet but it will.

I just pray to sweet baby Jesus that someone has had the brains to write into his contract that if he fails to qualify then his contract is terminated without compensation.

No it's called football, ask proper football fans if they give a care about the player in their shirt these days? First answer is no, backed up with only if they show the passion. Football fans are ripped off on the way to the game, on the way in and then once they're inside, overpaid the lot of 'em. Fighting on the terraces should be brought back to compensate for the lack of talent and passion on the pitch half the time, considering the money they get.

As someone said on my board the other day, for the amount of money they get these days, they should be good at what they do, but they aint.

Too true Lee, you go to Turkey and it's a frightening atmosphere at their ground, Croatia one scary place and Russia well you wouldn't want to be an away fan their.

You come to Wembley and the worst that will happen is that some kids on a school trip might boo your national anthem, what's the point in that?

Lets scare the hell out of someone, the odd pitch invasion, let's move the fans right up to the pitch, close enough so they can grab the opponents, like the good old days. Then if we win we can shake their hands and say "good game old chap", if we lose we can wait outside for a bloody good punch up.

Half of me is joking, well less than half, I want to see it!

Somehow I wouldn't expect you to understand the economics of football..

In fact, I'm going to have a little stab at this.

I'm not an avid football fan, so I probably don't understand. I do watch internationals and cup finals but that's about it.

What i see in the news and read in the papers is the english league is the richest in the world, but it is also stated it is not nearly the best.

Maybe economics is now getting in the way. Maybe greed is now the main factor for playing in this league instead of passion and pride?

I remember seeing some fifa french bloke being inteviewed on the telly recently about Englands chances of hosting the world cup. He basically took at stab at the FA stating something along the lines of there is something wrong with your league when over 50% of players are not of your own nationality

I also remember him saying there is something very wrong when you let your clubs be sold off to non national entities.

Perhaps this is another case of bad economics and is not the way forward? Who knows? I don't, i'm just telling it the way I see it from the outside.

and what i see is greed, grotesque wages, and you selling your national identity to the yanks, russians and anyone else who offers enough money.

Which country's fans are known as hooligans: england. The history is full of experience of the shite that english hooligans did in other countries.

Regarding Capello, he is an ass. I remember one of his match with GS in which the arse attacked on GS players. He will be used and abused as like other england coaches soon.

I don't care about the economics of football, all I know is tomorrow, 92 football clubs could go bust because the game is mismanaged and sky broadcast games to armchair fans - not that I get back that often these days myself.

The money is mad and football fans, true football fans, are sick of it. Economics, who cares. £5 a burger, £10 a pint, pint of wee water, nah. Sit down, don't smoke,w atch ten million pound players walk around like nancies showing no passion, take me back 30 years before all this started. True heroes on the pitch, not your plastic beckhams.

I was born 20 years too late, I had a fight with one old bill up at Leeds the other week after Millwall just smashed the windows on all five buses to get at Leeds fans who were waiting. The old bill started it, top copper only called his dog of a constable off after I was getting the upper hand, a shame really, I just about to get stuck in.

Wembley is rubbish, even back in 1999, I was sat in teh gallery and some man city started trying to tell me to stop singing, I told him to shut up face forward and to shut his ears, it's a football match not a game of chess. Then a Polish fan cheered their goal, I went mad, funny enough, so did the manc. I had to move away.

Atmospheres, great ones, only return to Millwall when we're riding high or the fixture is trouble or like when the murderer for Oldham comes to the Den. pitch invasions, rubbish thrown, called a murderer until his manager pulls him off, apparantly he knew he was coming off before anyone else haha, the Den at it's best. Economics, couldn't care less about the money, I care even less for the overpaid tossers on the pitch.

I only care about the fans, mugged day in day out, on the way out, on the way in, but still there, most of them until the end, hopefully one day we'll get our football back and sky will be kicked out.

English haven't been hooligans for the last 10 years at least. The pro hooligan element have been infiltrated by the police and are long gone. Unfortunately it's gone totally the other way now and is too soft, no atmosphere.

In any society there is a thirst for violence, least when it was on the football terraces there wasn't the mindless violence going on in the local parks and a like. These thugs (often solicitors and stock brokers) would at least control themselves till the weekend. Now they running riot everyday of the week, what's the point in that?

The economics are sound except they price the fans out of the game and 75% of clubs operate in massive debt. you see like the high street and pubs to clubs and casinos to do up flagging towns, all seater stadia and general revamping of the game was done through player wages etc, because workers wages, which still aint moved in ten years, couldn't support renovation, but it all got of control and the bosman ruling even worse.

The FA bottle it as they aint got no control and they like the money as well, the FA should be disbaned, the FL dont care about the prem, the prem dont care about the FL and every one pretends they care about the national team while sellign to foreigners and filling tems with foreigners and it takes a german in Sepp Blater to say it's all wrong and to care about England.
