Like Seemly, GDPR reminds me of the cookie law. Particularly the bit where a load of 'specialists' make a tonne of money scaring people into buying their implementation package.

But when a domain registry even feels the need to withhold the name of the registrar for every domain, you have to wonder whether things have gone too far.

Personally, I see it as a good thing and it's a step in the right direction.
But it will be very difficult / nigh on impossible to police effectively.

I don't see why such information needs to be quite so easily accessible. There are very few legitimate reasons why anybody actually needs to know this information.
Such sensitive information as this being freely available just plays into the hands of automated and scammy marketing tactics.

Sure, it's a total ball-ache but it definitely is the right thing to do.
 
.eu will be cancelled for uk owners post brexit + .eu owner regstration data redaction! :D:D:D :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
