Hi all,

I've just started an auction on Sedo for a keyword co.uk.

What's the etiquette for announcing .co.uk Sedo-hosted domain auctions on Acorn? Is there a dedicated board? I feel pretty useless as I thought I saw a board here the other day for this purpose but couldn't work out which one it was when I searched just now.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I think the timeline is roughly:

- list it with sedo
- post url on here
- auction ends at 3am
- post on here complaining why the auction had reseller only price and interest
- if it 'sells' wait a few weeks then post asking why there is no cash turning up
- post asking about the legality of sedo 'contracts'
- repeat.

LOL

- list it with sedo - done!

- post url on here - Which board?

- auction ends at 3am - Nearly as bad, 11.15 pm if my calculations are correct

- post on here complaining why the auction had reseller only price and interest - Thankful has a bid and will sell, which is nice

- if it 'sells' wait a few weeks then post asking why there is no cash turning up - :-(
- post asking about the legality of sedo 'contracts' - ditto

- repeat. - please no

I've had problems with sedo, they were problems I posted about on this forum, I believe sedo read the thread and to some degree acted on the problems outlined. I have recently sold another domain through them and although not paid yet, I am having a better experience. If sedo don't meet high standards, make sure you are carrying out your part correctly and efficiently and then post on here the problems your having with them. Hopefully if this is done often enough with vigour, sedo's standards will rise and become consistent.
The objective should always be to make something better, not kill it.

So is it ok to post the URL for the auction on the General Board? Or does it belong elsewhere?

There was some discussion recently that people are/were getting fed up with external auctions being posted on Acorn, but as far as I know no conclusion has yet been reached.

True, but that was mainly relating to non UK domains.

That's why I've hesitated recently. Personally I check the auctions on Domainlore and the uk sedo auctions (via domainlore) on a daily basis, but I'm not sure on everyone else?
