The UK ROR 'WHO GOT WHAT?' thread

Not to be a downer (and you say say this about a few of the ones I registered today) but these weren't worth registering.

They're not fantastic, and they didn't make my initial list, but I don't think they're totally useless. Apologies could work well for a flower/gift site, for example. They're worth a fiver to see if I can get anything from them.

Mix or plurals and negative words not really associated with anything

awestruck is along better lines, at least it's positive, but it's an awkward one and not really a business type name

baboonsarse.uk is still free #justsayin o_O

So is bestmobilecasibestmobilecasino.uk , after I deleted it.
This was an editing mistake  in my list and was the only remaining domain out of 70 after the first minute.

BEWARE:

Don't attempt to buy free to register .uk names from godaddy, they automatically go into auction.

If you find a domain name that you didnt catch on another platform but godaddy did, you can just register your interest and will be added to the auction for that name at godaddy.

Not good, i have 3 names that were free to register, so i registered them at godaddy or so i thought but i now have to wait until the 8th to see if im the only person showing interest, what a nightmare!

They're still taking pre-orders for domains that they have already registered. That's not even the definition of "pre-registering" according to their own website: "Pre-registering means you put in a request to register the domain ahead of when it becomes available".

I've just made a complaint to GoDaddy about this and will be making a complaint to Nominet if they don't resolve it.

In case anyone's wondering, GoDaddy registered my uninteresting domain within the first 5-10 minutes so they appear to have completed registrations for more popular domains quite quickly today or are very poor at prioritisation.

I registered what I am sure was a free to reg domain at GoDaddy. Nice domain and worth the reg fee - expected to see it appear in my account soon after. Hasn't appeared in either my GoDaddy account nor in my nominet account. Won't be doing that again!

*Update - confirmation email now received and domain allocated to me

I checked with other registrars that aren't running .uk auctionswhich are first come, first served and they seem to work fine.

Had some customer results in using our software

20 premiums caugt out or 60
15 premiums caught of out 200

Best settings seem to be :
DAC1 on each instance (max 4)
hours left set to 0.6 (0ms) on each

The DAC wont block because the EPP gets throttled before that happens
Most choose the T drop character so they can start the script seconds before the release.

Good results so far.

I'm sure I backordered some ROR domains with Godady, but can;t find the link on my account to see them.

Anyone know where they will be listed? Thanks

About 7 hours later they have finally sent me a "Domain Registration Confirmation" email and the domain is registered to me.

Their website is still accepting pre-orders for it.
