Has anyone tried this out? Make much difference?

Im tempted to try it on some sites thats pages could do with being indexed quicker... but im also tempted to just leave it how it is and let google decide...

From what I have read on other forums the change will last for 90 days and apparently there is not much difference between your custom crawl rate and the standard rate.

Anyone wish to share their views on it?

Thanks

Hi

of course their is a difference, it actually shows you the time delays for the crawls.

If you have pages that change regularly, you need to increase the speed.

If g decides this works and it finds plenty of new content, it increases your indexing automatically.

If you have it set high and g deems it not worth it, all you lose is a tiny touch of bandwidth doing it.

I don't think that is going affect Google actual crawl rates. If your site is updated frequently (I mean the contents, such as articles) like a news site or blog, the crawler will automatically come back more frequently.

when i tried to do this i get a 'your site has been assigned special crawl ratings' or something like that.
