Do you have the product name? :) Will double check it. (edit just found it, think it was John Lewis wasn't it?, they are funny about affiliates so not currently using them but still trying. I guess lowprices isn't either which is why the link was dead).

I am speaking to AW this week about getting as many more on board as possible :)

Would have got cashback on Find It for Less too though :)

One works and looks like a dogs dinner, the other looks half decent but clearly needs some backend fixes. Its a race... who's going to sort their site first

I think they are both working the same, as you can see lowprices is also showing skins etc but there are fewer feeds on there as it is just AW. I am going to sack off a few merchants as it seems some are just diluting the results with crap. :) There are also a few tweaks coming hopefully tonight or in the morning (depending on how much red bull is left!!)

Nick i saw toysrus logo onthe home page so am guessing you have these as part of your network.

Just found the product on toysrus.co.uk with no affiliate code for £29.99 but it didnt show in your results...

So is it a case of laziness on Accelerators part has actually turned into a better finished result than if he'd done the job properly :p

Floor limit on phone handsets, laptops, cameras, etc etc would definitely be a quick and easy way to wipe out all the usb cables from your listings... i think thats how i'd be going first.

Yep, the only issue is knowing how it is a phone handset. I have a couple of ideas like category names and description too.

I wouldn't say it was laziness it is just there are probably 1,000 merchants less on there. I am guessing the ones without the usb cables! ha The other thing is that shop window is sorte by relevence whereas I am searching by price - http://www.shopwindow.com/productlist.php?q=xbox+one&sListSort=lo&iListLimit=10 When sorted by price it does the same.

I am just tweaking it to find a happy medium of relevence vs price :)

I'll start by saying that what you've achieved with just you and your wife is fantastic but I wonder if the days of being able to pull something big off like this as a one man band or couple are gone. You're essentially Quidco and HUKD wrapped in one but the resources that those two companies have will dwarf your own and I think you should go in search of an investor as quickly as possible so that you get the financial resources to bring the right team on board to grow the business fast.

The public are unforgiving and they're unlikely to bear with you for long so (IMHO) you need to move quickly. If you can do that I think you might have a nice little business in the making.

Whatever happens, best of luck to you both, you've done a great job so far!

Thanks very much. A few people have mentioned investment but I have no idea where to start!

Without a very good unique angle that you can use to quickly gather momentum, yes I think the days of one bloke in his pants in his basement with a sub £10k budget pulling something like this off are long gone.

Well, just out of interest... I went on both finditforless and lowprices, typed a product in and found:

Finditforless £34.99
Lowprices.co.uk £29.99

Shame lowprices doesnt seem to work, they lost a sale then

Hi Guys :D

I have been reading this. Obviously finditforless is a new competitor for me, so it's difficult for me to comment but I wish him well.

Regarding my site not working, yes, it is annoying that I lost a sale, and I'm back in touch with Affiliate Window support. It's a plain vanilla version of the ShopWindow solution, which may need updating.

Rgds

To be honest, it does have a unique angle which is the cashback options :)

There are already cash back sites though, and there are already price comparison sites. I'm not sure if rolling the two ideas together is going to be groundbreaking enough to let you break into what is a hugely competitive market ?

I'm sure many Quidco users are already tightfisted enough to find the cheapest price first, then use their cash back links.

They don't offer cashback when others buy though which is why this site is different. You can post an offer, and get cashback.

For example this - http://www.finditforless.co.uk/offers/xbox-one-console-with-fifa-15-call-of-duty-advanced-warfare-29

If this sells, the person who posted the offer gets cashback. The person who refered them then gets 5% of that cashback. If somebody shares the link on Facebook and it sells, they also get a % of the cashback.

That is the unique (as far as I know) bit.

5% of 1% of something that costs £100 is 5 pence. I'm not sure that people are going to be willing to spam up their social media profiles for the chance of relatively low payments ? I know if anyone I'm following started doing this regularly I'd be unfollowing them.

I would just see that as an additional feature... not something newsworthy or groundbreaking. Surely the majority of income anyone makes is going to be from their own purchases ?

If they don't want to post up social media then it won't be to everybodies taste and we know that people will act in different ways.

The majority will probably be from people who post offers (once there is more traffic) as they can earn over and over if more than one person buys it.

The 5% of everybody you sign up is just an additional incentive isn't it.

I am by no means saying it is the new Facebook or Twitter and the world should stop, just that it is different to other sites and in theory should work really well.

Take hotukdeals for example, end users who post offers get nothing from posting offers. So why wouldn't they post them and get commission from it?

I think people who're going to post a deal will do it regardless - I don't really think an offer of 5 pence here and there is going to sway them either way.

I think you need another big unique angle if you want to make a serious dent in the niche - I just don't know what that angle could be.
