unfair terms in RoR dropcatcher's T&C

I did acknowledge that nothing illegal had occurred and that the thread starter was naive to spend so much with no guarantees. As for my assertion that it's morally repugnant, my compass obviously points to a different place than yours.

If you make the whois name and address visible before the transfer, they stay that way afterwards and you can then send a link to the whois to show the transfer has completed.

    DomainLore Auction Gloucestershire.uk

There's a lot of work involved developing that domain (well) and even more in monetising it.

I understand your disappointment but console yourself with the fact that It cost you £4.50. There's not many things that give that return :)

    DomainLore Auction Gloucestershire.uk

I know it's a sales thread so feel free to ignore the questions... 1. What do you think it's worth? 2. What's the lowest price that will make you happy?

    The .UK revolution

I wonder if the .co.uk has a penalty because I can't think of any other reason they wouldn't

    The .UK revolution

Dave we get it, you, Sam and Martin hate .uk, maybe admin can put a footer on every post so that you don't have to keep reminding us yourself :D I don't know about you lot but I'm only in this for the money, I find domains really boring which is why I rarely tell people that I buy and sell...

    The .UK revolution

Going off your example, owning a generic .co.uk is also worthless given that you typed in diving.co.uk and Google asked if you actually meant ukdiving.co.uk . All that your post actually does is prove how it doesn't matter what domain extension you have, it's authority that really counts with...

unfair terms in RoR dropcatcher's T&C

Tim, with respect, I think you've been a little naive here however, while it may be legal to take so much money from someone in return for nothing, it's morally repugnant!

    Auction limits at ukbackorder

I've never used the site before and I'm surprised somebody hasn't run an auction on for hours just for divilment :D
  16. S

    Auction limits at ukbackorder

I'd make it where a bid increases the current high bidder by a sliding scale, say £5 up to £100, £10 up to £250, £25 up to £500 and £50 for anything over that. I wouldn't extend the finish time unless the high bid is exceeded. So if I have a proxy bid of £50 but I'm winning at £20, a new bid of...

Extend if it beats the high bid.

    Auction limits at ukbackorder

The auction is extended even when the high bid isn't beaten! You could sit there and extend an auction for hours without ever being the highest bidder!
