Sorry, fairly pointless post. Wanted to write about an article but the registrar who posted it seems to be automatically banned by this board's censorship setting so the URL won't work. Oh well. Nothing to see here.

Although this was mentioned many times as a "potential problem" in V1 not many had predicted it would be an issue this time around.

One who did predict there would be pre-order problems was http://www.notagreatplacetobe.org.uk/dot-uk-proposals/briefing-papers/ in their briefing papers.

I wonder whether they will register a 1 year .me.uk or .org.uk to stand a better change if the 6 month window is used for non first UK registered domains?

Or if FTR on all UK tld's .co.uk simply register that.

Or just wait until the end of the 6 month window?

I'm sure that this will not be the only one, and once one has started it will encourage more to get involved in a potentially profitable area.
