Seen the new Bing homepage?

Very good - wondered if Google will try to copy it?

I think the Internet is crying out for a new search engine.

Marketers, SEO companies, business owners are all fed up with being 'pushed out' the top results by inadequate inner pages of big global brands - or too high CPC ads - or maps / products and anything else G can make money on.....

.....and standard users who don't consider results as accurate as they used to be (considering many ask questions than search keywords) plus confused by results and all the extras. The confusion and bells and whistles on Yahoo and MSN are what drove people to G in the first place!

Trouble is from searches I have been performing recently show Yahoo and Bing showing close to identical results, but listings allowing very crap and black hat sites in too easily - and generally results just not as accurate as G

Hopefully one of these buzzing techie startups are looking at a launching a competitor.

Yahoo now uses Bing-powered results, so that's why there results look near identical. There have been some competitor start-ups but none have really made an indent. I think the task of competing as a traditional search engine is too big. duckduckgo seems to get a few searches but I find it's too .com centric
