The Global Contenders chart will list the top sales in the non .com global extensions (.net, .org, .info and .biz). The Country Codes chart will feature the highest sales among the country codes extensions such as Germany's .de, the United Kingdom's .co.uk and America's .us. Regional codes such as the new .eu (European Union) will also join this chart when they enter the resale market.

Lets hope sales this year mean we can get the .co.uk's ahead of the .de's?
:)

I agree. It'd be good to see that. However, I think the hype surrounding the Football World Cup will serve to aid the German market this year.

yeah they have a very active market with a lot of domain movement you only have to look at the sale for de extension in last years dnjournal results.

i wonder why their market is far more fluid and transparent (lots of openly advertised and discussed sales) compared to the UK?

from this weeks dnjournal:
AcornDomains.com produced still another five-figure ccTLD sale, banking £5,500 ($10,116) for Gig.co.uk (Great Britain's country code, of course). The .co.uk extension is having a strong year. We just published a completely revised and updated report from Sedo on the .co.uk market that fans of that ccTLD should find interesting.
well done AD especially the seller/buyer of forementioned domain
:D

They need to correct that link to .co.uk not .com :)

'kin didn't, I did. Cheeky buggers.

Here's how the sale actually went, I put up a load of domains on, buyer sees my domain on domaini.co.uk after the post, he finds it easier to PM me behind the scenes on acorn. So I sold it. I sold it.

It's DNjournal mistake not admin's on domainprices.co.uk it clearly states Sales Source which is not the same as where sold which is how DNjournal puts it.

Anyway who cares, I have two in the top 10:cool: both accredited to acorndomains, neither was sold via the site but if it brings in more buyers then we all benefit :)

exactly

Sorry if I gave anyone the hump, we are just trying to raise the profile of UK domains in the .COM world, and of course promote this site.

Have emailed them about the wrong forum url, thanks for pointing that out.

If anyone has any other domain sales they want to see in lights, please let us know.

We dont expect a cut of any sales but all contributions are very appreciated.

If you cant donate then a link to the site from any of your sites helps us too.

I'm just mucking around just if they're going to say someone sold it, I'd like them to know it's me because i'd also like to shift my domains rather than everybody else's. I was being too polite by saying credit acorn, I should have insisted on domaini showing as well. My first chance of being shown on dnjournal and I ****** it up.

I'm not sure you've missed anything.

IMO people who want to buy a domain usually identify the domains they are interested in first then track down the owner, not the other way round.

Yes but some advertising you simply can't buy. Recognition, respect, trust, knowledge of previous sales all help as well as a link to the site. I'm not being ar5y about this, just stating a fact.

It's my fault as when I submitted the sale to admin I did say "I'd like you to put acorn and domaini but just put acorn if you have to." I didn't expect it to get on dnjournal though, otherwise I'd have insisted, I was being polite stating acorn as it was the initital thread that got the person to go to domaini in the first place.

Not possible. German internet usage penetration is top 1 in Europe. .Couk can not fetch up to .de values. Even english.de s can sell for a fortune like tonight.de

They must have amended it Lee as they now have a
link straight to you.... ;)

"In another four-figure sale just off the chart, MortgageQuotes.us rang up $1,000 for America's extension in a sale at Sedo. Also SexBusiness.co.uk was sold at www.domaini.co.uk for £500 ($920)."

It's at the bottom of the Country Code section.

its also mentioned in post #6 of this thread ;)

They've amended it Charlie.
Post 6 states the sale went to acorndomains.

DNjournal now states:

"Also SexBusiness.co.uk was sold at www.domaini.co.uk for £500 ($920)."
